bacteria and viruses

i don't give credit to anyone or anything for the healing of (or the receiving of) a disease.

that just doesn't make any sense...if it were true why would one person be healed and another not? is the person being healed somehow a better person and more deserving of being healed? that seems very arbitrary to me.

why doesn't god just get rid of all disease? why allow any illness whatsoever.

just another one of those things that i will never understand.

edit
i usually try to be nice, but i get sick of hearing how everything is adam and eve's fault. what kind of god is going to punish everyone throughout generations for something someone else did. they were basically newborns.
you don't leave a baby alone with a screwdriver and an electrical outlet and say don't put that in there.

Nature.

Viruses, bacteria, etc. They all evolved just like we did.

Even Sickle-cell anemia was an unfortunate consequence of our own evolution in trying to protect ourselves against malaria.

Give credit to God for giving those scientists the ability to cure a disease that was created from Nature. God had no more hand in creating any diseases than setting the wheels of nature in motion.

Nature causes disease. God gave us free will, which I still think was a horrible mistake as we're too flamin stupid for such a responsibility, but anyway, there are prices to be paid for free will, and the price is very high at times. But of course, like someone else already said, you're just here to put blame on God for everything, trolls don't come here really looking for an answer.

They blame humans for the disease and credit God for the cure. Could it possibly be more backwards?

In the beginning, Adam and Eve were perfect. The garden of Eden had no disease, and this first couple were immune.

They sinned, and their DNA was damaged slightly. They had children from this subtly and slightly damaged DNA, and they, too sinned, thus damaging the DNA even more. Again, they had children from the even more damaged DNA, and their children likewise sinned.

This downward spiral has been going on for 6,000 years. Today, we see the outcome of it all - children born with spinal biffiduh (spelling?), infants born with a stub for an arm, or a hole in their lung or heart, etc, etc, etc.

The diseases we now contract affect us only because we have inherited damaged DNA that does not have the necessary immunity to diseases that our first parents had.

God is offering us a cure - THE cure - Jesus Christ came to die to pay the penalty for our sins, and then redeem us. For all who put their trust in Him, we shall receive a new body free from sin and depravity.

The offer is for you, too, if you but acknowledge and repent of your sins, and ask Jesus to forgive you and allow God to be the Lord (boss) of your life. After all, Jesus, who knew no sin, actually became sin for us. He not only died FOR us, He actually died AS us, completely taking our place so He could redeem us. He bought us with a price - His own blood!

Will you continue to live under the curse? Or will you take God up on His offer to forgive, cleanse and redeem you?

Really, the choice is yours.

When God gave his only command to Adam and Eve, he told them not to eat the fruit, and they disobeyed. Then if you read further it tells how God cursed mankind from this point on. In the belief of creationism, all life spawned from these two people. So essentially everyone comes from the seed of Adam and Eve, so everyone is born into sin. And it is sin itself that brings about death, disease, and destructive disorders like ADD, Cancer, MS, Homosexuality, Sickle Cell, Hepatitis etc etc etc.

People who believe in that idea think that the devil is the one who produces all of the "bad" things like diseases. No one knows the truth.
Some people even think god created diseases and suffering to increase faith and make people better. Wierd.

Some people will argue that people brought the illness's on themselves. I personally do not believe that however.. I dont see how a young child could bring an illness onto themselves.
I dont give credit to "god" be it good or bad credit for anything.

The disease came from wherever it came from. God let it happen, then God cured it. All things happen according to God's word.

Sybil, you can't have it both ways: either he's responsible for it all, or he's responsible for none. You don't get to pick and choose. That's the point.

Edit: Fishers of Men: so is god eternally playing catch up to satan? Why doesn't he just stop the source, rather than the effects? Has god not heard of efficiency?
