We like secludedness yet all the luxuries of a 4 star hotel.
Part 2 of the question is does anyone know a travel agent that can get us there for less then $6k for the 2 of us? Thanks.

I traveled to both Tahiti and Fiji last year. Tahiti is very beautiful and very expensive. If you can afford it Tahiti is the place to go for luxury and seclusion. That being said almost 85% of the people visiting Tahiti are honeymooners. Not a great place to party.

Fiji is great. Its quite large with many different islands. Lots of folk from New Zealand and Aus. because its very close to them. great secluded beaches and amazing fishing. good surfing and diving and you can be as secluded as you want with hotels in all price ranges. I stayed at a surf camp on a private island. It was truly stunning with great food and amazing surf. You should be able to do Fiji for under your $6000 cost ceiling but you havn't told us where you are so its hard to recommend a travel agent. have fun and good luck.

According to http://www.theskilledtraveler.com recommends Fiji over Tahiti, as it is more secluded, and Tahiti is a more publicized tourist destination. A trip for 2 for under $6K is difficult, but we do have travel agents that can take on your case. Visit http://www.theskilledtraveler.com and contact the author who plans these trips. You can find his email at the bottom of each blog entry.

I would recommend Fiji over Tahiti. Fiji is a little cheaper than Tahiti. Book your travel online and search for deals.

Fiji by far, but I "boycot" Fiji at the moment because of the current dictator. Tahiti is a nice alternative.

I have friend who was raised in Fiji and now lives in the states. She normally goes back to Fiji 3 times a year because of its beauty and her connection 2 it.. She has talked about how great Figi is for over 15 years to me and some day I just have to go...... Just go to google.com and type in Fiji and get a world of information about it. Have fun!

Fiji is much more varied, and is bigger so will get you away from all the dodgy american tourists.

Have fun!
