I usually buy my ticket as soon as I confirm that I'll be going on the trip. In my experience, generally, the sooner you book your ticket, the cheaper it is.

YOu can walk to any ticket counter and buy a ticket, however you will get a better deal if you buy before you travel.
The best deals are 3 weeks or more from the date of travel. To be more sure, us a Travel Agent. TA's have access to better deals than those found on websites and in addition, they also have package deals not available to the general public.
TA's don''t cost more to use. They get their money from the Airlines - so why not give them a call - it's costs you nothing to check what they have.

I too am making plans a visit to Costa Rica on June twenty 5th of this year and returning to Florida approximately July sixth. I even have traveled to and from Costa Rica each and every year over the final twelve years and that i constantly wait some month - month and a nil.5 earlier holiday time to purchase my airplane tickets. i will start up checking the charges approximately would fifteenth - and because I even have already checked them final week i will have a extremely good theory of no rely if the charges are coming down or going up. good success!

I'm with you--as soon as I know my travel plans, I buy the tickets, up to three months in advance. It helps knowing that some airlines will offer some sort of compensation if the price drops after I purchase the tickets.

If it's for a vacation, I will usually buy it 3-6 months earlier. It really depends on where I'm going. If I wait too long, the price will go up and I won't be able to sit next to my husband.

i usually do 2-4 months ahead of time, that way you can chose your seats and the tickets tend to be cheaper
