On Sunday, 2 days ago, my pet cat bit and scratched my forearm. When it happened, i just sorta washed it off with soap because we didnt have peroxide water, and i didnt think it was too bad since it was my cat. my mom said it might get infected because i didnt clean it right [i'm 14 btw].
i have 2 bite marks, and one of them was reallyyy close or actually on my vein thats in my arm, and it has a blue bruise around it. the other one is close to a vein as well, and it has a brownish, tanish bruise around it as well. yesterday that bruise was just red. the wounds are red, but it doesnt look like theres swelling. i cant really tell. theres also a dull, sorta pain just going thru my whole arm, and above my elbow whenever i bend it [no bruise there], i dont kno if that has anything to do with the bite tho... what do i do?
***i think my mom is bringing me to the doctor if it gets worse. maybe earlier.

It would be a good idea to go to the doctor, you need to get a tetanus shot.

Even though it is your cat, her nails are still covered in bacteria from the litter box, the floor, etc. Even a house cat can cause a very bad infection, sometimes even worse than a wild cat. You can get cat-scratch disease if it isn't cleaned properly, although it is relatively rare. I'd suggest cleaning it thoroughly with hot water, peroxide, and bandage it. If it starts huring more, or you start experiencing pain in other parts of your body (such as abdominal pain), or become extremely tired, I would definitely go to the doctor. At the moment, it sounds like just a normal cat bite, and shouldn't require any kind of doctor visit. Just keep a close eye on it for a while, and if it gets worse, go see your doctor.

The doctor will give you an antibiotic for 4 days as a precaution. He may also suggest that you have a tetanus shot, if you are not vaccinated for it.
These are precautions, it is possible that nothing will happen and the problem will go away by itself. But since there is a possibility of infection, the only responsible thing I can say or the doctor can say is the precautionary antibiotics and tetanus shot.

Definetely if u have any doubts u should go and see a doctor. I know we have a kitten and each time I get a scratch even a little one from him it itches soooo soooo bad! Vet says its some enzyme they have under their nails and Im allergic to it so Ive gotta get him declawed. But if it hurts your entire arm- the kittne mite have just gotten a nerve when he bit u and it should heal on its own but to b safe definetely see a doctor in case it is infected

Sounds like it may have just bruised the vein - you may also be allergic to the saliva - which I am - when my cats scratch me I just have to wash them out really good - if it gets worse see the doc it could be an allergy

i would go to the doctor, i also had gotten bitten by one of my cats. even though i cleaned the would with peroxide it still got infected. mine on the otherhand also terned septic, as in it infected my blood. by going early you can get it out of your system before it gets that bad. cats have a lot of bacteria on thier claws and in thier mouth at all times. my bite was on my ankle and the infection reached my knee before i went to the doctor, 4 days later. don't do as i did, don't wait to get treatment.

use peroxide to clean the open wounds. use an anti-bacterial on it. keep it clean. if its deep it is best to keep it covered. the briusing colors are normal, they will change different colors as they heal. if they get larger- see a doctor right away. see a doctor if anything else gets worse.

perhaps he does not understand he's been "fastened" Male cats will chunk women on the decrease back of the neck in the process the breeding just to hold the female nonetheless. The 'chunk' does not destroy the exterior.

It sounds normal. You can try washing it again with disinfectant or peroxide. Just watch for infection, if it turns pink or gets inflamed.
