They ask for new species I give it to them. They ask for new Genus I give it to them. They just shift their position from "it can't be done" to "So What? Can they do this?"
Are they going to do this when we get around to new Families and Orders?

Once again, Please check the definition of species before commenting. (Genus, Family and Order too).
It will keep you from posting something out of ignorance of the subject.

The problem is that anti-evolutionists aren't interested in evidence. You could prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that evolution is completely true, and they still won't accept it, because they have gotten the idea that their church wants them not to, or that God wants them not to. They don't want truth, they want faith.
They are wrong, of course, but they don't care. They would rather feel virtuous and in harmony with what some misguided preacher told them than be correct. Not all religions or Christian denominations are like that, just a few loud fundamentalist evangelical types.
Remember Galileo. Even though the evidence was clear, the catholic church taught differently, and he was forced to recant. They still would rather just have you believe what they tell you to believe than ask questions. Authority is what they believe in.
By the way, I can prove God exists in one sentence. Since a supreme being is possible, and in eternity everything possible must happen sooner or later, God, being eternal, must exist.

They are probably tired of you treating theory as fact. Use evolution like the scientists do--it isn't a fit topic for popular consumption.

Biologists use it as a useful theory and a framework for organizing organisms. They are aware of what they know (natural selection happens, fossil evidence exists, bottleneck effect can greatly alter the way a species changes in a short amount of time) and of what they are guessing (evolution could be traced back to show that most or all organisms have a common ancestor, life began with a single cell, the single cell came from electrical reactions in the different chemistry of primordial earth).

Scientists know which parts of the theory can be junked as the available facts change. People who don't know science but cling to evolution act exactly like the creationist folks--they take a lot on faith, preach it like it were true, and look down on anyone who doesn't agree.

So what to mounting evidence of Evolution? If evolution is how we all came to be then how do you explain the process of how an entire universe was created from NOTHING?

I believe that evolution had a part in the creation, but something or someone had to start it all...

You did not give anybody a new species. You have two yeasts in a forced mating and making a hybrid yeast.

Be honest.

EDIT: Once again, I already gave you the definition of species. Since you apparently cannot read a dictionary, here it is again for the rest of the class.

Posting the same nonsense over and over will not make it true.

Looking for a missing link is like looking for a 1 foot high step in a wheelchair ramp.
The whole idea of evolution is that it is a gradual process over millions of years. In the same way a wheelchair ramp is a gradual incline (as opposed to stairs) to reach an end point (a building for example), so evolution is a gradual incline to reach our current state.
So, just like you COULD take the stairs to reach the same point but that is not the evolutionary theory. So, gimme a break with the missing link thing.

First, I'm not sure to what extent they were new species or previously unknown species. Same with Genus. Taxonomists improve their work with research just the way every other science does.

Second, it is a waste of time to cite scientific evidence to people who are young-earth creationists. They have learned every possible dodge by this time, and are utterly impervious to evidence.

The really funny part is: if they somehow found scientific evidence validating the existence of their god, do you think they would still be dismissive of scientific inquiry? Or would they trumpet their discovery from the highest mountaintop?

BTW -- The first poster is dead wrong. In his book "The God Delusion", Richard Dawkins (a biologist) describes in some detail structures very similar to the flagellar motor that exist in other cells, and explains exactly how such a mechanism could have evolved in small, incremental steps.

The point indeed is SO WHAT? That's probably it.

We all gonna die and at the end of the day our accomplishments are not judged by what we believe or of which school of thought we belong but the work we have done in a day to day basis. Religion or beliefs in that fashion is just an accessory.

Special creation and evolution are the same thing!
If people want to be ignorant to that ""fact"" then let them.
My husband can argue this same matter with people for hours and it doesn't go anywhere.
At least your not blind sighted and ignorant to God's beautiful creations

You're not giving anyone any answers. I think the entire world knows evolution is fact, but what is not fact is that man evolved from apes. Science still hasn't found this missing link, hence it is still nothing more than an unproven theory. You can be as snide and ridiculing as you please, it still won't make a theory into a proven fact.
