Absolutely. They're incredibly strong Christians. Not that long ago, when one of their neighbors murdered some of their children in a schoolhouse (and then turned the gun on himself), they not only forgave him publicly, but attended his funeral and set up a fund to raise money so that his kids could go to college.

They're an example for us all.

Yes, they are supposed to be a Christian denomination or sect. (Of course, you are always going to find plenty of "Christians" out there who are going to say that no one but their own little group are "real Christians". So I'm sure some people don't think that the Amish are Christians.)

What CMW posted a ways down is true. Its really amazing that a group of people would do that. They are definitely a bit different than many other groups. They really seem to practice what they preach. Personally, I wouldn't enjoy emulating their lifestyle, but I have to respect them.

From what I know of them, the general answer is yes. They dedicate themselves to living Christ-centered lives. They haven't deliberately twisted or changed scripture so they're not a cult. I like the Amish.. But just like any other group, some of their young can get awfully rebellious lol.

Yes, I believe they are. The Amish are an Anabaptist sect, which would (as far as I know) make them Christians.

Yes, they are a Baptist denomination thier main dogma is that people should make thier own decision as to whether they want to be baptized or not when they are old enough to understand, not like some Christian sects that Baptized or Christened into the church when babies as various countrys did forceing them as members of the chuhch into paying church tax.

Yes. They are a simple sect of Christians that adhere to values and lifestyle of a kinder and gentler time...shunning the "rocket-sled to Hell" values of most of the world.
