My cat is half Siamese and OMG she can meow, which is cool sometimes, like when you talk to her she talks back or when you come home she greets you, but sometimes she just screams...I mean SCREAMS...especially when she wants something. I have never had or seen a cat as demanding as my half Siamese. I love her weirdness and I'm not trying to totally change her personality, but is there any way I can stop or deter her from being so demanding and screaming at the top of her lungs? It can really give you a headache!

Baby's mom and Bucky the Cat, Heidi and Bucky (I assume ;-) ) sound like my Suki. I'm going to try the water method. Hopefully that'll stop the screaming for a while...I'll probobly put it to use in the next 24 hours. Lol

Yeah, there's not really any way to get them to stop screaming at you except to give them what they want. If I leave my Siamese for a while, he will keep yelling at me for a few days when I get him back, and the only thing to do is to wait for him to get over it. And, If I give him the wrong kind of cat food, he will yell until he gets his favorite.

I'm far from being an expert on cats but I do recall reading a few years ago that the Siamese breed is just that way, always hungry for attention and very talkative, supposed to be one of the more intelligent breeds of cat in general. Just wish I could remember where I had read this.

My cats are siamese mixes, and normally they're satisfied. The loudest they meow is when they're seperated or want to go outside and they still aren't that loud. Does she have food, water, and a clean litter box all of the time? If she's allowed outside and you have to let her out, maybe you should get a cat flap. If there's nothing else, you could try earmuffes :P ...

Water spray. It usually makes them lick, which gets their mind off whatever it is they're yelling about. My girl, Heidi, will wake up from a sound sleep and shriek for no visible reason. She's been checked at the vet a dozen times, nothing wrong with her, she's spayed, so she's not in heat...just sounds like it. Baby, my boy, is also part meezer, but he doesn't say much at all, except for the occasional loud yell as he runs from one end of the house to the other. Heidi is *supposed* to be a purebred, but she has calico markings in her brown, and of course, the people we got her from had rescued her from a hoarder, so there's no way to know for sure, but she is at least part. You can see their pictures on my 360 if you want to go look.
If you *do* decide to try the spray, make sure it's pure water, no additives, as they will lick it, and you don't want to make her sick. It may also make her furious, but at least she won't be yelling. I spray Heidi, and she stops yelling for a while.

This is a tough one. Have you had her long? I'm not telling you anything new by saying that you can somewhat interpret your cat's signals over time, but my cat still baffles me sometimes and I've had her for years. My cat gets really demanding when she wants a specific snack or treat. Maybe your kitty is doing the same thing.

Mine likes to talk to me if I talk. And the cat greets me when I come home too. I think it's just a sign that they appreciate you even if they don't want to show it all the time. Check to see if your cat needs anything. She might be screaming because she wants more food or water. Cats voice their opinions in different ways. :)

Well, I know my gold cat meows a lot. Every time I go in the kitchen, he rushes in there, taps my leg and meows like crazy until I feed him. It happens when he wants to go outside too. Your cat is probably just spoiled, I know mine is, and he didn't do that until I started feeding fancy meals to him, maybe yours is the same way?
