I bought a dummy pineapple grenade from Gunbroker.com. I bet they'll have a few for the M203!

Now are you sure it's an M203 40mm grenade launcher and not one of the 37mm flare launchers that appear identical to the M203? The M203 is of course considered a "destructive device" by the BATF, and is subject to special regulation and taxation. The flare launchers are not subject to the regulations and taxes. 40mm grenades are also considered destructive devices, and carry a 200.00 apiece tax for MOST types of rounds. That can run into some real money fast if you wanna shoot H.E.'s! Practice 40mm rounds, as well as other 40mm rounds can be found for sale at autoweapons.com. The most interesting 40mm rounds I've seen are .22 caliber "pepperbox" rounds that fire a cluster of 11 to 18 .22 barrels all at once.
37mm flare, smoke, and O.C. rounds are easily located from ammo suppliers such as cheaper-than-dirt. No registration, no taxes other than sales taxes.
If you have an UNREGISTERED M203, rather than run afoul of the ATF and risk spending 10 years in a federal pen and being out 20,000.00 in fines, I'd throw it in a DEEP lake, and deny ever seeing the thing. If it's registered, no problem, but you can't take one that ISN'T registered and GET it registered. They'll throw you under the jail.

If you are talking about dummy rounds, check with Brigade Quartermaster, Cheaper than Dirt, and Sportsmans Guide. All have websites.

I think that number one its illegal to own a M203 grenade launcher as they are military equipment and are very dangerous. As far as practice grenades I dont think that there is such thing. The military practices with live rounds, according to two friends who just finished Boot Camp one with the Marines one with the Army
