They're acting like they care, but they're only solution is "raise taxes", impose "green taxes" and I really don't see how this helps! Surely improving public transport would be much more effective than just sucking our money through tax tax tax and more tax! And where's that money going anyway? Its not like we can buy "The End to Global Warming" by throwing money at it.

Right on target. It's good to note we once had fantastic public transit in the USA, among the best in the world. It was systematically dismantled by the government (Federal, State, and local) to please the auto and the oil and gas industries. This culminated during the 1950's and 1960's with the Interstate Highway project. They got rid of the streetcars in my home town, but they never finished the interstates that were supposed to replace them. No amount of highways could handle the volume of traffic in the cities today.

I’m not sure which country you’re in so I’ll provide a general answer.

For some governments I suspect that the issue of global warming will be abused and rather than addressing the issues they'll use it as an excuse to impose more taxes and legislation.

There are some governments that have adopted a more middle of the road approach and are penalising those that contribute most to global warming and environmental impact in general but at the same time are rewarding those who lessen their impact. This seems to be a better approach as it incentivises people to act of their own free will rather than imposing unavoidable burdens on them.

What doesn't the government abuse? You can bet they won't use half of any "green taxes" for the intended purpose. They will establish some new departments so they can put some of their buddies on the payroll and then they will spend a fortune on research that's already been done and maybe somewhere down the line they will actually do something beneficial.

Unfortunately any topic that is of interest to large numbers of people is often a target to be expoited for a number of purposes.

When politicians need to raise money, often the easient way is to find an issue that is of high importance to many people and use that issue as an excuse to raise taxes, which are often called fees.

Unofortunately that money is often used for many purposes other than the original issue that it was designed to solve.

this is a farce. Hemp does not have the lively element in marijuana, it makes use of much less capability to strengthen than different vegetation and enriches the soil. this is against the regulation for 2 reasons: a million. William Randolph Hurst (Conrad Black one hundred years in the past) made it the conflict cry against "Mexican terrorists" who had fought for land the US stole from them on the turn of the century, and a couple of. Cotton farmers could not compete with hemp so as that they jumped on the band wagon.

Of course but the government would abuse anything they want. It does not matter weather real or fake, man made or natural that the government will tax us for somthing.
