If you are just dating then don`t worry about it.

If you two are serious then you need to consider a few points.

1.Is he real close to his mother?
If he has a tight bond with her, which he should, then you will probably end up on the loosing side sooner or later.
2.If you two marry and have children, will she except yours and treat them the same?
No child should ever feel they are not equal and it is your responsibility to prevent it from happening.
3.Are you prepared to go to family functions and be treated like an outsider?
All daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws should be treated with the same respect, sounds like that will not be the case.

If she has any form of control of her son,you should probably walk away, save your self from years of grief.

Don't let her get to you. The relationship you have with her son is just between the two of you. She is just being the typical mother. -No one will do.
So, just concentrate on your man. -Just be civil around her and do not disrespect her. Oh, and don't bad mouth his mother in front of your man.
If his mother is judging you because you are divorced and have a child, it just means that she doesn't know you. Let her get to know you. She may have a change of heart if she sees how a responsible parent you are to your child. If you are a good mother to your children she will notice.
So don't worry about her. -You and her son are just dating.

My mother-in-law didn't like me either because I was divorced and had 4 children. Well, I married her son we went to some family functions, stayed away from some, and in the end she learned to like me, because I was good to her son.We where married 31 years before he died, and everyone in his family, came up to me and told me how much they loved me for being so good to him and loving him unconditionally. You have to discuss this with your boyfriend and find out how he feels, and if he is going to stand behind you. If not then it's time to find a different boyfriend.

Well there are a few options from the plain rude (tell her to f-off) to the sensible (sit down discuss her reasons for not liking you and come to a consensus) What you do about depends entirely on how you feel about the b/f (marriage, dating, just sex) and how often you think you will be forced to be in the same place with the mother. Choose the best course for you and if it is important for the relationship. If you dont care about him or her you can go with option number one

she's being immature you shouldnt worry about it just because you've got a kid and divorced doesnt make you a bad person but i think she might think that if you get married to her son you'll get divoced from him aswell....best thing u could do is ask her what her problem is.

There's nothing you can do until she changes her mind after seeing the person you really are! Don't worry about it or go out of your way to please her. If she likes you, fine and if she doesn't, fine too! Take care of yourself, your child and your relationship, period!
