Dale Sr. built DEI for his kids, not his wife. Junior had every right to ask for 51%.
Get your facts straight, dude.

When has Jr been whining? DEI engines have been blowing all season long again. I never hear him complain. He always credits the engine shop and his crew for giving him a good car and says they will go get it next week. Jr isn't Sr but he is a good driver. He won 15 races in 5 years back when DEI had good cars and 17 total. I don't think he forgot how to drive.
Wins
- 2000 - Texas and Richmond (also won the Winston)
- 2001 - Daytona, Dover, and Talladega
- 2002 - Talladega (both races)
- 2003 - Talladega and Phoenix
- 2004 - Daytona, Atlanta, Richmond, Bristol, Talladega, and Phoenix
- 2005 - Chicago
- 2006 - Richmond
Teresa knows nothing about racing and it shows because we watched that team go downhill the last several years. They didn't put the money or time into keeping up with the technology. What happened to them dominating the plate races? Jr was strong on short tracks too. Its obvious that their engines aren't as good as Gibbs, Hendrick, or RCR anymore.

EXCUSE ME!!!!!!! Did I read this question right? When have you EVER seen Dale Jr. whining and crying???? He is making a fresh start or haven't you read any news lately???? If you want to bash someone go pick on someone who really deserves it. Dale Jr. and his brother and sister DESERVED to get total control over DEI. If you haven't heard that IS what Dale Sr. wanted, but I guess you are so full of hatred that you don't see it nor do you want to.
Sr. told Darrell Waltrip " you got to leave the kids something".
Teresa is a cold hearted, money grubbing leach and I hope she runs TEI into the ground, she deserves it!!!!!!

Teresa made a mistake. DEI was built by Dale Sr. for his kids to eventually have. Dale Jr. was offering to BUY 51% of what should have been his by inheritance anyway.
All Dale Jr. wanted to do was have some control of his racing career by being able to make business decisions. For crying out loud, up till about 2 years ago he didn't even own his own name. So Teresa, in stead of ending up 49% of a very lucrative company, now owns 100% of nada. Jr. WAS the franchise, period.

For one thing, this subject has been hashed out forever!
Nothing that is discussed here is going to change what has already happened.
I believe that we should ALL honor Jr. request to leave Theresa alone and stop the name calling.
There are bigger and better things to talk about here.

Jr. is not a whiner! But this subject is old and tired, over and done with. Can't we just let it go. Nothing will change as a result of rehashing it, so why keep bring it up?
Go Jr.>>>>

I don't think it's about greed. It's about spite. Teresa is spiteful. All of her recent "business" decisions regarding Jr were made out of spite, not financial gain.
Jr is not whining at all. He's done just what you suggested... making a fresh start and being his own man.

I am not sure that Jr. is crying about anything. I think that both Mommy and Jr. need to grow up a little. However I think that from what I have heard on this site. The Jr. fans are the people crying. OH what will Jr. ever do with out the number 8? Give me a break. when was the last time a number won a race.
Earnhardt fans in general need to move on with there lives, Sr. is dead OK. Jr. will have to win with another number OK. He will not own 51% of a company unless he builds it himself.

The facts are taking a beating here. Let's see. Dale Jr has about 1 or 2 wins in the last 3 years, missed the championship cutoff 2 out of the last 3 years, Martin Truex is running well and has a win without any engine trouble. So exactly what does Dale think he has to offer? Dale's engine trouble is brought on by himself, he even admitted to abusing the engine at Watkins Glen. I'm no big Teresa fan, but I agree with some of the stuff she's done. Let Jr go be someone else's problem to deal with and get a driver in there that will be happy to be there. Let's not forget the whole fiasco with MIchael Waltrip and the team swap years ago. Dale's track record sucks, his request for control of DEI was an excuse to leave. Maybe he should drink less Budweiser and work a little harder instead of sleeping til noon. Hendrick won't put up with that crap. I do not get where anyone thinks DEI is struggling as a team. Look at the #1 team. They are doing well, and appear to be getting stronger by the race. With Mark Martin helping out now, things will get interesting.

Hand down, it's Teresa that is the greedy one. IIRC, you all
are right about the 51% that Jr. wanted, but it wasn't 51% of
the ownership of the company, just controlling interest of it.
Which would have been split up between his brother and
sister. But Teresa wouldn't have any of that, she wanted to
control the purse strings.
