If we study the development of organized Christianity, you will find there were sects prior to Rome's religious decree, that believed that Jesus was not diety, and focused on the internal relationship with God, (rather than the external,) which is what Jesus taught about (Gnostics)
There was another sect, that was determined to make Jesus a diety, an extension of God, so to speak. This was what Rome adopted, and cultivated the vigin birth story which was prevalent in several different nature religions, since most people were familiar with it, therefore, it would be easier to swallow, or accept.
Rome cultivated the current trinity.....Father, Son and Holy Ghost, removing the female entity, since the power of the feminine was a threat to patriarchial power. I believe that the trinity is male/female/creation. It is symbolic of the mixture of forces, combined to create. It is symbolic of all that God is about......creation.
Is there one God? I believe there is a Creator, the essence (energy) of which dwells in each one of us, and if we have the courage to access this energy, we can begin to understand God's perspective, which has little to do with religion. We cannot contain the expansiveness of our Creator, within the human confines of religion. Religion is but a stepping stone......to greater understanding. Something like going from grade to grade in school. The problem is, that we often stop at highschool, and never continue.
Jesus showed us the way to access the Dinvity within us......without need for church, pastor, rabbit, Bible, Torah, etc. In this way, we acces our own salvation, by acknowleding all of our selves and our connection to the Creator.

Muslims and Jews are also monotheists, as well as some others. Those are the two other big ones.
The "Jesus God" to which you refer seems to be a reference to the Trinity concept which is in some, but not all, Christian religions. They say there are three aspects to the one God: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. It's sort of like three different ways of viewing God, or perhaps three faces of God. The best I can understand this is that a man may be a father to his children, a son to his parents, and a husband to his wife, but it's just one man.

the reason is obvious.
the ONENESS of God is taught throughout the entire bible from cover to cover.
all of these scriptures say that Jesus is the living God....
john 10:30 - I and my Father are one.
john 14:9 - Jesus saith ... he that hath seen me hath seen the Father
isa 9:6 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
who is the child ?? Jesus
who is the son?? Jesus
who is the mighty God?? Jesus
who is the everlasitng father?? Jesus
john 5:43 - (Jesus said...) I am come in my Father's name
john 12:45 - (Jesus said) And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
matt.1:23 - Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
who is the child? Jesus
who is the son? Jesus
God w/ us .... Jesus
john 8:19 - (Jesus said) ... if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
john 8:58 - Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
john 13:13 - Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
john 20:29 - And Thomas answered and said unto him (Jesus), My Lord and my God.
deut 6:4 - Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is ONE LORD.
(not 3 - "trinity")
Jesus said it Himself (as He is God wrapped in flesh, not another God...)
Mk.12:29 - "Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, 'Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord' "
the apostles knew that Jesus is the living God ... NOT another diety.
the catholic church is the organization that in error CHANGED ONENESS to THREENESS by creating the trinity.

It is the unity of the 3 persons that makes them ONE God!
How is it that when Christians say there are 3 - Father, Son, Holy Spirit - the Holy Spirit never gets attacked?
Could it be someone is after the Son specifically? And why?

question: "... If Jesus is God then how can there be a son of God." answer: this is the component. Jesus can't be the son of God if he's no longer God. The son of guy is guy; the son of God is God. contemplate: Jesus is God yet he's no longer the God (I John 5:20; John 8:26-27). question: "... Why did Jesus say that he would be returning to his father if technically if he's God he'd be returning to himself." answer: the excellence is obvious. Jesus, the son of God -- who's himself God -- would be returning to his Father, who's additionally his God (John 20:17) question: "... How is it that Jesus is think to be siting on the main appropriate of God like somebody suggested if he's supposedly God he is going to be sitting next to himself." answer: image a guy sitting beside his father. and picture the son of God sitting to boot God the daddy in heaven (Colossians 3:a million).

Well, yes. Of course. There exists one God in three persons - Father, Son, and Spirit, just as one apple has three parts - skin, flesh, and seed.
Jesus is God the Son. :)

Monotheism does not apply to the people who believe in the Trinity. Their belief is that there are 3 separate beings comprising a singular "God".
1+1+1=1?

I am a wife, daughter, priestess, scientist, sister, mother and lover....
But I am one person.
A monotheists thinks there is but one god. Whether he is claiming that the god has three faces or a hundred that are all one god, he's still a monotheist.
