The Christians on R and S are not out trying to change laws or invade anyone's beliefs. We are here to testify of the good news of salvation and Jesus' precious gift to the world. Christians what does this scripture mean to you?

Isaiah 61
The Good News of Salvation
1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

Sister Zeal, you are so correct.

The gospel is "good news."

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. John:3:17

The above scripture is a paradigm, if others could see the truth and beauty to this, it would be good news!

Sister,
I think I have about had it for the day with listening to ridicules and insults, etc. -
There are simply people on this Earth that
do not have eyes that see, nor ears that hear, and there is nothing thats gonna change that. Many come from a different
"father".
They get to sail their own ship, and if they choose to sail it straight to hell, so be it.
There are enough seeds planted on this forum and its up to God whether the seeds
take root or not.
If someone wants to set themselves up as an enemy of the living God, then they are also enemies of Gods Children, period.
I pray for a change of heart for them, but
if they want to continue down the path they are on, there is nothing more we can do:
Let the angels do the harvesting and separate the wheat from the tares. Quite frankly, its just as well they show their true colors, then that weeding out won't take all day, and those of us with wonderful spiritual lives to get on with, can get on with it.
As for today, I am tired of throwing pearls before swine.

Um, yes there are MANY groups of Christians who are out to change laws to turn this country (USA) into a theocracy, and others torment people at funerals. As far as I know, neither action is "good news" to me when I see both causing suffering and harm.

Your actions speak louder than your words do.

No matter how often you proclaim your intentions to be just and righteous, you have acted the part of a bigot far too frequently.

btw, you are a man in real life, aren't you?

I honestly do not believe that.
I believe that you are here because you think others are in error.
That is not good news, it is the seed that grows the tree of hatred and xenophobia.

The real good news is that no one needs to follow a god who would set the bar so high that his followers all fail to meet it.
Real gods do not create people who are flawed or sinners or need those gods.

I'm not here to preach. To me this scripture means that God anointed THAT person to go out and preach.

R & S does not and should not excude against any religion. Everyone is allowed their own free thoughts and opinions. Otherwise it would be named "Christian" instead of "Religion and Spirituality." This includes all aspects of everyone's beliefs....not just your own.
