I just moved here from San Francisco and I'm having trouble finding any good salsa at the store. Most of it seems to be really, really sweet, which is not my thing. I like the fresh (in the fridge) style, but I haven't been able to come up with much at Kroger, Busch's or Whole Foods. Anyone know of a good place or good brand?

There is a local brand... I forget what it's called something like "Garden Fresh" I think. They are local, but available in Meijers. I have heard it is very good...

I make my own personally...

I don't know where you can find it there, but i can tell you how to make fresh salsa that quick easy and tasty.
5 - Roma tomatoes (chopped)
1/2 large white onion or sweet onion (chopped)
fresh cilantro
1 - jalapeno seeded and (diced) or you can substitute for a sm can
1- green Chile seeded and diced or you can substitute for a sm can
2 - 3 cloves of garlic diced
1 - 2 tbs fresh lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
If you prefer your salsa smooth you can puree it in blender.

put in a large bowl and salt well.
let sit 30 min,
next.. stir and add 2 crushed garlic cloves

1/2 of a bunch of cilantro, chopped fine(about 1 cup loosely piled)
2 tablespoons lime juice
dash of pepper and more salt.
