Can anyone tell me the width of the wheels on a new 2008 F-250? Most oversized tires require a width of 8-10 inches. The standard wheel width in the past was only 7 inches which means I would have to buy wider wheels if I wanted to put oversized tires on a lifted truck. But recently the F-250s went from 16" diameter wheels to 17" diameter wheels so I thought they may have increased the width too? Any help is appreciated!

You can put a 12" wide wheel on a 7" rim. That is what I ran on a 1961 F100 pre runner and never had a problem

Most if I remember are 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 but haven't measured the 2008s yet (these are the 2005-2007 17 inchers)... My guess is the oversized with the 8 inch width would probably work on the stock rims (as they are so close in size)..

Basically Ford been having 17s on them since 2005. But basically when Ford moves up a rim size.. nothing really changes except rim diameter and tire size to give same exact foot print as before.

The wheels that we put on are listed above. If I was still at the plant I could go back to the tire room and measure them, but I'm not there anymore.

good luck.
