I've always thought of my organization as polite, generous, mild to anger people. We're not a cult or a sect. As for people who say we shouldn't come to their house that can be arrange. Next time one of us comes simply ask them to remove their adress from the list or get a "No Trespassing" sign. If you guys just took a hard look at what we're trying so desprately to warn you against you would be fascinated. I am getting baptized in this organization. The last days are here, and I wish all of you on Yahoo! Anwers could come to the New Order. But please do me a favor next time a Jw comes at least listen, please. I'm 13. What do you think of my speech?

JW's hate no one. We just feel VERY sorry for you people. And we DO belive in God to whoever said we didn't. We apologize if we disrupt you, we're just doing God's work. If your pastors told you too go knock on doors, if you are true to your religion you would do it. And some witnesses are false. So if they are rude or arrogant then that's just them, don't think that;s how ALL of us are,

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.

However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

I am not a Jehovah's Witness, I was raised Catholic. I had a few friends who were JW and they did not hate Catholics. I don't think they hate Catholics, they just don't agree w/ many of the beliefs the Catholic Church upholds. Look around, every other religion attacks the Catholic Church as well. That's the way it has always been.

Boy did the JW spin doctors do a job on you!
Take a look at how we got the expression "put your foot in the door". It was related to "Judge Rutherford" and his witnessing techniques. You havent heard how the JW's picketed church services and went in and disrupted them. You never heard "Judge Rutherford" sermons and how filled with vitreol they are. Loving polite organization -that's what they WANT you to believe. The truth is something different though.
They won't take you off the list and JW's walk past "no tresspassing:" and "no soliciting" signs on a regular basis.

For being 13, you have a lot going for you that you are going to abdicate by joining that cult. That is what I think of your speech.

Things are not as they seem in the congregations or the organization. You may need a few more years of experience to see this!!

I think you have been scared off by JWs on the net.

Your Q has been removed because you question!!

If you did not remove it - was it a bad Q? probably not, but then it may have been reported by JWs because it links JWs and homosexuality.

If you have some real Q's about sexuality then it is best to ask these anonymously without age or religion attached. Or go to a school councilor. There are people to trust.

Well I will tell you, I am a Witness. I think the speech was Ok, however this is Yahoo! Answers. You are supposed to either ask or answer a question. If you go to http://www.360.yahoo.com you can set up a Yahoo! 360 account and speechify to your hearts content.

If you are a Witness then you know why we are hated. A number of reasons, Satan is like a roaring lion and he knows his time is short. Also at times people hate what they don't understand.

You will get allot of mean answers, it is a fact of life. I have reported this question, as it is a statement and will hopefully allow you to plan things a bit more when asking a question on here.

In answer to other's answers

Yes we do know that Jesus did/does exist and did perform miracles.

As far as I know we have NEVER published material that qualifies as specificly "anti mormon". Our beliefs are ours, yours are yours, clearly some of what we believe will be anti = against what you believe.

As for claiming that "It is even more paranoid to proclaim that the entire scientific community of the world is engaged in a massive, impossible conspiracy for the sole purpose of discrediting you" PLEASE show me where we EVER claimed this.

As for going from door to door, we are trying to peacefully follow a Bible mandate to do so. If someone has a door chances are it will be knocked on, if you don't want that simply say so. I would be fine with someone going to the trouble to get up, get dressed, come to my door, and politely offer to share their beliefs with me. I would feel honored and respected that they took the time and effort. I would then decide to either talk or not talk, simple choice.

We are Christians and are not cultists.

No computers are not forbidden by the Bible, not sure where you got that from. If someone feels something about my beliefs is unBiblical and wants to come to my home and tell me that is just fine.

As for the comment by the first answerer, with the foul mouth, it is true it is your property. I personally don't want intruders either, however, with no fence, a door with no signs of you not wanting a visitor, how are we to know. We are trying to follow the Bible, plain and simple. You don't need a fence, just make it clear you don't wish for us to visit again, we strive to follow the wishes of householders.

Thanks go to 1984 for pointing out the later question stating "I 13 and a lesbian" Clearly either there are 2 users on this ID, or this person is not a Witness.

I don't hate you. I enjoy your visits. (Sometimes they can be annoying though. Like when you come every week.)

But I know that my aunt rebukes you guys "in the name of the Lord" and chases you all away. She needs to grow up a little.

Also, many Christians do talk to you guys in a positive light as far as your lifestyles go. They just have mojor problems with the belief system.

(BTW, I am no longer a trinitarian mostly due to your influence, oh, also the Muslims, too. You guys are a lot alike you know. Pretty cool stuff.)

To answer your question you aren't hated atleast not by any true Christian's...in fact you are loved more than you know by The Father, The Spirit, and The Son...I am sorry to inform you that by following Jehovah's WItness you are not a Christian and that the group you belong to is distorting or changing essential doctrines of the Bible...For example your religion denies the physical ressurrection, which ensures that we are saved by grace...Please do some further research because Jesus Christ did exist and he did perform miracles! Not only is it in the Bible but it is also in multiple non-christian accounts! Why, would a non-believer write how powerful Jesus Christ was if he didn't perform the miracles he did? For more information on this please read http://www.biblehistory.net/Jesus_Miracles.pdf ....

I will continue this in a few when I am off of work please understand we do not hate you but want you to repent and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!

OK I'm home now "gen c" made very valid arguments, most of which I was going to use...So lets see here let me once again inform you that he and I both have received thumbs down in our discussions so let me bring something to your attention here is my e-mail frogmorestudios@yahoo.com I have questions I would like answered...Here they are-

if the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is from God, then...
Why has it made false prophecies?
Why has it altered the translation of the Bible?
Why does the Watchtower say you will fall into apostasy if you read the Bible without the Watchtower?
Why are you not allowed to examine your own organization and its problems?
Why does it tell you what to think and do?

Also, how can you explain false translations of the Bible, when the Watchtower constantly changes their very own translations? I have my great grandmother's bible it provides the same message as my NIV, NLT, KJV, the only differences is terminology. I want to know what you believe because everyone absorbs information differently and all that comes out of these religion answer things is who is right who is wrong...If you want me to leave my faith I need you to show me why yours is right and why I'm following Satan... Is my belief that God's word has no loss of translation wrong? In order to say that God made a mistake whether it be the Father (JW's) or the Trinity(Christianity), you take away his power because God doesn't make mistakes he is truth. So please explain that to me thanks for your time and please send e-mails I will read and take into account what you have said...

Most people don't like false religions or cults. The Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult hon. I hope you accept this now as a 13 year old and before you get baptized or too brainwashed. Check out this website:

www.freeminds.org

I kept asking my mother questions she couldn't answer, and finally I researched and realized that it was indeed false religion.

I don't hate JW.'s. My attention is focused on people, events and occupations that directly impact my present moment.

I will, however, admit to mild annoyance at telemarketers, door-to-door peddlers (of anything, including religion) and headstrong insisters violating my personal space. I find it very rude, anti-social.

One should not have to put up ugly 'no trespassing' signs on their property. But perhaps in this day and age it's become a necessary evil . . .

Whatever happened to the good ol' days, when guys would preach on street corner soap boxes, and one was free to listen or pass by ?

Maybe JW's could take the financial resources from "The Watchtower" and start their own television network. Then they could be assured of receptive people happy to have them in their homes.

I was 13 in 1960 - thats nearly 50 years ago! I was in JW's because my mother was one. I was getting baptized and at that time the "last days" were here and Armageddon was coming. Still no Armageddon. And people die from not taking blood transfusions. While you are so polite to people you talk to, you are not telling them that whatever religion they belong to at the moment is being controlled by Satan. Why don't you just go to their door and tell them that? You wonder why people don't like you? You are being dishonest with them. Go up to their door and the moment they open it, tell them they are under Satan's influence and need to get out right away. See how they react.
