Ok, so my cat, Kitkat, is VERY pregnant and just a couple of minutes ago she was in my house looking for a place to have her kittens....but she is not allowed to have them in the house since we have a dog and all. Anyways, what kind of place should I set up for her outside. I already have a cupboard outside with some towels and newspaper in it. Should I put anything else in it? Or do something else? (by the way, this is my cats 2nd litter, the other time she had them in the cupboard too but kept trying to move them into the house) & how much longer do you think until she has the kittens?

ok, let me add a couple more details about the last pregnancy. Last time she had them outside in the cupboard around nighttime by herself and it went fine. In the morning she had herself 4 beautiful kittens. All healthy. Anyways, & we would have had her spayed after she had her first litter but by that time she had already gotten pregnant. And to the person that said the kittens dad kills them is not true, its other tomcats that arent the father that will kill them. Because last time the kittens would purr and rub up against the dad and he would clean them. Now onto the outside/inside part. I would LOVE to have the kittens born inside because it is in the 90s everyday here in MS and all the bugs and stray tomcats BUT my parents wont let me. I will try and convince them. . . . But if I cant hopefully she has a good litter of kittens in the cupboard again and they are alright like last time.

if she wants to move them into the house, she will. so you'll need to watch that. that seems like the most comfortable place for her. ask your parents about that again. otherwise just try to keep her as comfortable as you can and make sure there is padding in the cupboard ans so forth. good luck and congrats on your liter.

Your cat needs to give birth in the house, not just outside where any other animal can hurt her or the kittens. Since you have dogs, put her into a big closet with a whelping box and let her have them there. Is it too hot or cold outside where you live? Kittens can't control their own body temperature till a certain age so it is dangerous leaving them outside. You need to get your cat spayed if you have to leave the kittens outside. The whelping box should be just a cut out tv box or something that she can walk into easily, cut the top off but leave the sides so it is enclosed. Put lots of newspaper topped with towels. Are you going to be there with her when she gives birth?

Kitkat needs to have her babies inside the house. She is choosing the area since her instincts tell her it is safer and due to temperatures (too cold or too warm).
Have the dog boarded or have a friend keep it until Kitkat wants to move her kittens.
Have her and her kittens spayed/neutered and find great homes for them that can keep them safe indoors.

She could be fed canned and dry chow it relatively is made for kittens. This has a a techniques better protein and fats content fabric, which she would be able to wish for a healthful being pregnant and healthful kittens. If she does not get carry of sufficient meals, her physique will rob itself to furnish what the fetuses want, and he or she would be able to be in unfavourable condition while giving delivery. proceed feeding her this meals till the kittens are weaned. It takes meals to make meals, and while she is nursing she would be able to wish the greater advantageous energy to offer milk. I provide pregnant cats all they want to consume. They get canned meals thrice an afternoon, and there is dry chow out each and all the time. With the present disaster over tainted meals, you may sense greater mushy with a vet formulation, whether to my know-how, there have been no comments interior the breeding community over Purina professional Plan Kitten, Iams Kitten or the Royal Canin Kitten formulation.

You should let your cat have her kittens in your house. The dog can make do with a "dog house" outside your house. Do your animals a favor by doing both of these.

Your cat will only move them to where she feels safe and confortable. I took a lot of time and effort making the right birthing place for my cat but she insisted in doing it under my bed. It is not safe or fair let her have them outside. Could you try to stop yor dog getting to where she is. It is only for a few months. With regards to when my cat got very loving just before she gave birth.

put the cat in the house. get a baby gate to keep the dog out of the same room as mamma. you can usually find baby gates at yard sales for pretty cheap.
after she is done nursing the kittens and you have found them all new homes, take mamma in to be spayed. it much healthier for her and for you

There must be a safe place in your home like a closet - any thing- don't keep her out side now!!! you can put her in the closet in your bedroom and close the door so dogie can't get to her can't you? Also- I heard that the ink from the news papers is toxic to kitty-
