Marketing is the selling of a product or service to the public. Ad campaigns, word of mouth, product samples, product packaging, cents-off coupons, fliers, posters, signs and billboards are all examples of marketing strategies.

Successful marketing practices bring sales up, while unsuccessful marketing practices either have no impact on or negatively impact sales.

It is the method by which one sells a product or service. For instance if a sales person is aksed to develop a marketing strategy then it would mean they need to come up with various methods to sell a product or service. The 4 P's of Marketing: Product, Place, Price, Promotion. These make up the funadamentals of a marketing strategy.
