You should probably wash your face with room temperature water, then gradually raise the temperature of the water right afterward. Cold water can damage irritated and sensitive skin, while immediate hot water can slightly burn your face and destroy skin cells.
Lukewarm water will help, but however if you use it frequently your skin cells on your face will become accustomed to it and can be damaged more easily if you decide to wash your face with a different temperature water.
You should put some kind of mild skin cream on your face after washing to ensure that your skin cells will be protected.

Washing face (follow this routine twice a day to wash your face the correct way.
1-Steam your face with HOT water all over for about 2 minutes to open pores.
2-*At night* use cleanser and massage into skin for about 60 seconds.
3- Leave 60 seconds
4- Rince thoughroly
5- Follow by splashes of cold water to close your pores, allowing dirt, and oil unable to enter the pores.
Doing this will prevent blemishes and will make your complxion healthyier and glowing.

I believe, that if you're going to wash your face every day, then you should wash your face with lukewarm water. Don't do hot water, or after you do hot water, then don't do cold water, stay to one temperature, it could irritate your skin if you do.
Good luck.
And what I would suggest is that you use lotion and daily moisturizers.

warm water to clean yourface because it opens the pores. after you are doen washing your face splash cool water on your face to close the pores, then you always want to use a toner no matter what. try the noxema pads. they get out any trapped dirt and make sure the pores are closed so that no more dirt can get in your pores, cuz this is what causes break outs or blemishes.
