By your question it seems that you are very worried about the effect that a Mormon might have on your faith.

I'm not sure where this fear comes from but fear isn't the best thing to base life decisions on. Labels like "Christian" and "Mormon" are too general to use to judge someone else. There are good and bad people in each group.

If the person is decent and good and you decide not to be friends, what do you think your God would say about that? If He would be okay with that, then I'm sorry for you friend. You got one pissy God.

Yes, and yes.

Mormons are always looking for friends. Mormons consider themselves Christians, by the way. It is right to love everyone and try to make them our friends. Concentrate on what you have in common, and I think you will find that you will agree on most of the important things in life.

Sure, happens all the time. Any normal decent Mormon or any other christian won't regard religion as a friend factor.

There is nothing wrong with being friends but when both of your religion comes up there will be problems. Totally different beliefs. Be very careful!!!! Most important, pray about it and God will put into your heart if it's good or not.

Yes. Yes. Just because mormons may not fit the 'Catholic or Protestant present stereotype (in the USA) does not mean they are not Christians either.

a person of one religion can be friends with a person of a different religion. It's up to the two people to make it work.
