Start off with a fast paced walk and work up to a jog every other day. Alternate days with an upper and lower body work out. At home for upper body you can do push-ups, dips, bicep curls with soup cans if you don't have weights, arm circles etc. Lower body you can do leg lifts, squats, lunges, heal raises, etc. And don't forget crunches or sit-ups for your abs.

yes,it does depend what type of workout you like, there are many excercise videos like Pilates(my favorite),Tae Bo,Yoga,Dance& other Cardio workouts..those are a good place to start since they are pretty cheap & will give you a good idea of what you like & since you have a friend who's going to work out with you,you can split the cost or each buy a couple...if you are very commited then I say invest in a treadmill or running machine,(I bought a Gazelle because my hips are bad & there is hardly any impact versus a treadmill-I love it!) I also have a small workout trampoline which is good for legs & getting the heartrate up. another thing you need are some small weights to use along with your cardio to increase muscle mass, helps with toning.. the great thing is there are so many choices with excercise, you just have to sample what's available & find what's right for you

It all depends on what kind of work out you want to do..
If you would want to concentrate on your stomach, then do about 50 sit ups a night, within a few months you will be doing them without even feeling pain. ( this isnt always a good sign as after a while your body gets used to the excercise and will gain weight in another part of your body ) so the best thing to do is change your rutine every day, that way your body is always toned, and there is always another part of your body that will get toned. Just so your body doesnt get used to the excercise, i do this every day and it keeps you in shape. =] Good Luck!

It depends on your preference and the part of your body you want to focus on. Try getting an exercise video that targets the area you want to focus on. Your local library should have a selection, so you don't have to make a financial commitment before 'test driving' the program. Good luck!

The answer is totally dependent on what you want to get from your workout.
Why workout at your house? Ditch the car and walk or cycle instead and get some fresh air while you workout.

It depends on what you're aiming to do. If you want cardio, walking/running/jogging would work, or buy a aerobics video. There are also yoga/pilates videos/equipment that you can buy reasonably. If you want to do some weight lifting, that could become a costly endeavor.
