Depends on local laws...some just ticket it and others tow...also keep in mind that you could also be hit with having no ins. also because it is parked on a public street.

While laws vary from state to state for that short of a time its highly unlikely....
Here in Idaho before one can be towed, unless it is obstructing access to another persons business or property..
it cannot be towed until a 48 hour orange sticker notice has been posted on it's windshield or other window... to allow owner to move it
but the law also allows immediate towing for unplated and unregistered vehicles... so it comes down to the officers decision as to sticker it or have it towed

If it's going to be out in the front of your house just for one day...I don't think it'll get towed, but if you leave it out there for longer than a day & a cop drives by... he will issue you a ticket be/c the streets belong to the gov't. He can't do anything if you park it in your driveway, you can park it there as long as you want w/expired plates be/c that is your personal property

Any vehicle without plates, or with a regestration expired for more than a year, parked on city or public property, can be towed on sight. Better to leave it on your property or regester it first. Tows and impound fees are costly.

You could try putting a note on it explaining the situation so you will have a chance of it not being ticketed or towed.
They could say that you drove it onto the street without it having a license plate and that is an offense.

Just for a day, probably not. You could get a ticket if a cop rolls by. But I seriously doubt you'll get towed.

They will probably put an abandon sticker on it, they put one on mine when I forgot to register it. They should not tow it right away, but you will have to show proof when you get plates for it.

Depends.
My area they will put a neon orange sticker on to tell
you to move it
and then they will come back and tow it.

Yes it can. Where I live, an unregistered vehicle cannot be parked on any public street or even in your own driveway.
