You should video tape the pug getting beat up and send it to America's funniest home videos or planets funniest animals. At least get some money out of it.
The kittens can be tamed, you just have to teach them. Try catching the kittens and the mamma cat and take them to your local shelter, or keep them and try to give them away to a good home.

You need to talk to your animal control people again; strays are EXACTLY what they're supposed to deal with. Get animal control to bring/loan you a live trap. Bait the trap with canned cat food, and capture mama. Once you have mama, get the kittens, and take the whole thing to a shelter.
If you want a kitten, I'd suggest seperating it from mama once it's no less than six weeks old. Two weeks is MUCH too young. It might be a better idea to get a kitten from a shelter; those will already have been vaccinated and spayed/neutered.

She's doing her best to protect her kittens from a dog, I wouldn't blame her at all. Can the dog be walked in the front yard or exercised on leash while she's raising them?
If she has a few days of calmness she may feel ok about looking for a place to move them, but right now she's probably stressed out that she HAS to be there as much as possible to protect her kittens at all times. There may also be no other 'safe' area she can take them to and your yard is the best she was able to find.
It takes a lot of courage to go after a dog, all the ferals and strays in our area are deathly afraid of dogs. We took in two stray cats and they would pee in their carrier if there was a dog in the waiting room with them. Try to cut the mother some slack on this, she's doing the best she can.
A feral kitten can be tamed, but it takes patience and a lot of love.

Your poor pug lol. Most strays are afraid of humans and very protective of her kittens if they are handled however she probably wont attempt to come near you. Id test the waters with her first, when the kittens come out to play try catching one or all and play with them and get your scent on them, more than likely she will feel threatened and move her kittens to a new location. And yes stray kittens can be tamed and just as loving as kittens from a pet cat, especially since they are so young. Just make sure to get him/her its shots.

Animal control can't help because its a stray??? That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. That's specifically what they do. I had a stray dog in my yard one time and animal control came and picked it up.
I would try calling the city and complaining about that first, and if they still won't come and get it - try the SPCA or something.
I would not suggest trying to tame a feral cat. And you especially do not want to try to take it from its momma right now. And god only knows what those cats have picked up from being outside all the time.

Yes they can be tamed. I found two stray kittens and they are ok now. The momma cats just afraid your dogg gonna hurt the babies. You can call animal control but ther is no saying they will catch them all right away. Hope this helps. Good luck!

the mother cat is just protecting her kittens she does not know any better. If you can get to the kittens and pick them up then you should be able to tame them. Do you have a shelter that will take strays if you do take it there.

you need to call animal control again. their main function is to pick up strays. i would call your county government and make a complaint. i would also put something in the paper (opinions page) telling people what they said and ask "what are we paying these people for?" buy or borrow a humane live trap. if you borrow it ask them to show you how it works exactly. put a can of cat food or tuna in the trap and catch mom. after mom is caught gather up the kitten in a box. maybe the animal control officer will come get them after they are caught, if not take them to their office dump them on the counter and ask for the officers paycheck seems how you had to do their job. once you are there adopt a kitten from the shelter. dont take one of the kitten from your yard, once you take mom and kitten in they have to make room. save a life

The kittens can be tamed. If they are very young theres a big possibility that theyre still nice. You might have to lure the mother with a trap...Use cat food. It works every time. Just make sure you dont hurt her.

rent a cat trap and use it to catch mom and kittens, then call animal control. I am suprised they said nothing they could do....Cat rescues will sometimes also come trap the strays also.
She will eventually hurt your pugs eyes if your dog hasn't learned by now to move....
kitten? depends how wild they are.
