I care very much. I want to be a marine biologist, mostly working with dolphins. If there is any reports on dolphins, chances are I already know about it. I care a lot about the environment and plants as well. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. I am not a Democrat or Green Peace officer. When it comes to issues like this I do not think it should be a political matter. I believe that Global Warming exist, but I do not believe in all this hype about it. Global Warming exists naturally. Even if we stop polluting the ozone with carbon, Global Warming will still occur. I think it is important to recycle and be conservative, but that is only to protect the animals. Sad to admit, but I am not a vegetarian. That is because I can't be one for health reasons. I don't think anyone should be either. Eating only salads is not healthy. ou are not getting the right amout of nutrition or the right kind of protein. I could promise you this..I refuse to buy any food product where I know an animal has been brutally slaughtered.
Most of my concerns about the enivironment goes out to the ocean. I believe in recycling because all garbage goes out threw the sewers and into th eocean. I was reading that a Byrde whale dies because it swallowed plastic shopping bags and trash bags. Plastic is not healthy for the whales. I also Navy sonar is the one of the main reasons why the beaches are filled with dead whales. The Baiji River dolphin of the Yangtze River in China became extinct recently due to the large amount of pollution and heavy boating traffic. I also not that in Japan hundreds of people gather together to slaughter dolphins. I also know that in Alaska it is a sport to slaughter seals, but the government can't do anything because it is a part of their heritage. Dolphins also are still being caught in fishing nets because dolphins swim under the tuna which is what the fisherman are trying to catch. Whether a can of tuna actually is dolphin safe I don't know, but I still won't eat it.
That's my opinion in a nut shell. I hope it is what you wanted to hear. Unfortunately, there might not be anything that we can do. We can't change are past and we cannot change are culture. If a political party states that they will protect are environment it is only another empty promise. It does feel better to voice your opinion and practice recyling, but right now that is all we can do. The dolphins are safer in the marine parks even if people state tha animals should not be held in captivity. In the parks nothing can harm them. Adopting a dolphin will definately help. That is what I did, but it is not enough. Anything helps. I also hate that everything is going green. My inhaler was recalled becaus eit may be unsafe for the environment, but any other type of inhaler may be unsafe for me. No, our entire lives are changing because of these activists. I live n front of a wild life sanctuary. We can't touch our backyard because we may disrupt the environment. I respect what these activists are doing, but they are going overboard. The reason why gasoline and oil is going up is not only because of the Iraq conflit, but because people are fighting to stop the use of oil and gasoline. I know oil is bad for the environment. I have read about the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska. Solar energy does not supply enough, especially in the area I live in. The others are not efficient. Hydroelectric energy can produce enough energy, but it is hard to transport to the areas that do not have a large water supply. Until another way is perfected we can't stop using cars. We do have school and work. Not all areas have bus or train transportation. You can't walk to most places either. The average person can't afford a hybrid and electric cars are not good for long distances.
Keep voicing your opinions and do the right thing. It may not seem like much, but a little goes a long way.

Yes..and have since the late 60's.
Today's 'green' movement is not, however, ecological. It is, as is Al Gore's comedy "An Inconvenient Truth" and M Moore's "Sicko" geared only to make a profit for its founders and higher-ups.
To actually _do_ something, clean up your own back yard.
Use what you have rather than buying new stuff.
Use it up. Make it do. Wear it out. When you have done all three of these things, recycle it.
Plant a garden..the greenery will soak up some of your CO2 and produce some O2 in the process of feeding you.
Walk when you can
Ride a bike when you can
Don't take a car if you can take a bus or train
Don't fly unless absolutely necessary
Don't buy Chinese goods
Don't by Korean goods
Don't buy rainforest lumber

When Nature [or an evolutionary 'big bang'; or God; or an intelligent designer] gave man dominion over the Earth, it wasn't intended that man should then destroy everything for his own benefit.
Ancient cultures revered the land, considered it sacred, and believed it belonged to everybody.
Tribal communities would kill an animal for the good of all members of the tribe, then not let any of this 'gift' go to waste as the animal was used for food, clothing and shelter - and was given 'thanks' for such sacrifice to man.
Instead, our modern 'civilizations' strip mine and gouge the land for minerals; steal the Earth's most ancient sunlight so that we can drive Hummers and other gas-guzzling SUVs; destroy the environment without regard to plants that might provide medicinal cures for many of man's modern ailments; rip away the rainforests which protect the planet and provide oxygen so that man can breathe; build luxury condos that undermine the valuable mangrove forests so necessary for oceanic survival; overfish the oceans that are quickly becoming void of all sea life; build beachfront homes on property that erodes the coastal ecosystems; joke about the impact of global warming and disregard the fact that once polar bears and remote Eskimo tribes are extinct, we're next! -RKO- 08/28/07

I care extremely about the environment without the environment our survival wouldn't have been possible. Plus I want everyone to have a chance to see all the beautiful things that mother nature has to offer.

As an avid hunter and fisherman that regularly augments store bought groceries with wild fish and game,I am keenly aware of the environment and issues concerning animals.
Much more so than the average college kid "greenie wannabe".

The USA is about 30 years behind Europe and Japan with environmental strategies. It pays of for Europe, which is bypassing the USA with a bigger and faster growing economy.
People who don't care, usually have very little education and low IQ's too (the USA is way behind in education in the western world and average IQ is actually sinking)

Sure I care. If I didn't how would I be able to go into the forest and shoot a deer this season? Sure I care about animals. What else is there to eat?
