1. I like Firefox the best. I've never tried Opera, so I can't be fair in just saying that Firefox IS the best.
2. None of them come with viruses or spyware. Firefox and Opera are generally considered less likely to contract viruses and spyware. IE 7, to be fair, improves security a good bit, so I suggest installing it, even if you do switch to Firefox or Opera.
3. IE6 is faster in loading than Firefox. This is because IE6 is integrated with the Windows environment. IE7 is not integrated, so it would be a better comparison. I've heard that Opera is faster in loading than either IE6 or Firefox, but as I have not tried it, I cannot say for myself. As far as surfing the web goes, this is mostly an observational dependency. Different people see things in different ways. I haven't used IE in a long time, so the most that I can say is that Firefox or Opera are probably no slower in surfing the internet than Internet Explorer.

You won't notice much difference in speed. The big difference is that there are fewer active security exploits for Firefox and Opera. However viruses/malware/security exploits exist for all browsers.
Personally I'm fond of Firefox because of the ability to add useful extensions, like ad-block, which make browsing more pleasant. That said Opera includes many of those features by default. I'd recommend downloading both Opera and Firefox and trying them both to see which you prefer.

Firefox by Mozilla. You the user have more customization by adding on themes and extensions. Go ahead and give it a try..Don't forget you'll need to get the plug-ins for your Firefox browser. It's simple.
I've used Opera, and I prefer Firefox.

Well, I'd go with Firefox - I sometimes use Int Explorer, but Firefox is much more user-supported. You can get free add-ons to really customize it the way you want. It's faster. It's gotten better reviews from tech magazines, etc. Below is a good review comparing Firefox, etc.

I've been using 3 of them. And the last and the best choice is Firefox. And I did create a polling on that... 98% of voters voted Firefox as the best and favorable browser.

Why download one of them when you can use them all as they all have something that others do not offer. I like firefox for some things and opera for others and its a personal thing. At least you will have a personal opinion using all 3. http://freefirefoxsoftware.blogspot.com

Both are faster than IE....why not download both? Viruses are not an issue with either.
I have four browsers on my system right now, but I usually run with Firefox.
Keep in mind that you will have to keep IE your system. Some pages won't open any other browser when you click on links.
