I only use Nero 6, but I would imagine so.Do you use Nero to convert the film to DVD format also?I use ConvertXtoDVD to create the VOB files(about 40 minutes for a 700MB film) and then burn with Nero 6(no more than 15 minutes).I use nero to burn TV episodes to DVD.It usually takes about an hour and a half to convert and burn 4 episodes(1400MB/160minutes runtime). What's your process?

Sounds like your converting it with nero as well as burning. The best option if you wish to convert it is to install a program called WinAvi which will convert in approx 45mins, you can then burn the vob, tus files with nero. Your second option is to purchase a divx player (very cheap) and not bother converting, just burn the files as a data disc. The second option will allow you to put six films on one dvd or one film of 700mb onto a cd.

i have had the same problem with nero in the past. make sure that all programmes you have running in the background switched off. except your antivirus and spyware obviously. then abort the burn and start again. this usually resolves the problem. in some cases though i have had to uninstall and then reinstall nero to solve the problem. in all cases though turn of any other programmes, especially any download progs like ares or utorrent. hope that this helps. good luck.

If you're converting from an *.avi file to DVD format and then burning it, it may take that long if you are low on memory. No way around that apart from increasing memory. Optimising your computer may help, but with limited results.

You might want to optimize your internet connection speed. Tuneup Utilities 2007 is a great way to do that. They have a demo available at http://esd.element5.com/product.html?productid=300136251&languageid=1&backlink=http%3A%2F%2FBetterTechs.com&oplayout=USA&affiliateid=200064482
This will give you a better indication. Remember, its the amount of seeders available that will help you will your speed of download. Also, if you have other people on your network doing heavy downloads, you will also come across speed problems.
