does anyone know how to make tap water safe? I heard to boil it, or let it sit out for 24 hrs. Does anyone know anything I can do to make it safe, without chlorine and floride? I dont want to spend a ton of money either. thanks

There are standards for city water systems.

The water is tested regularly, it is safe!

we can never tell if tap water is microbiologically safe to drink or not. boiling it for at least 20 minutes is so far the cheapest way to do it or you could also buy filters or water purifier to be more sure of the safety.

sure tap water is safe-but it depends on the place your water is coming from! if it is coming from a well it usually doesn't taste very good, it is a little better when its coming from a reservoir that everyone gets water from. really its okay for you but if you can buy a water purifier that goes of the nozzle of the sink thing that would make it a lot better and healthier!

If tap water was not safe to drink we would have the same warnings as you get when abroad, but if you are really fussed buy a filter jug they are not expensive

Britta water pitcher. They aren't that expensive. Its the only way to get all the gross stuff out without having to like boil it and do ridiculous things.

Those "PUR" and "Brita" filters you install on your faucet remove chlorine and fluoride.

Chlorine I can understand, but fluoride? Unless your teeth are already mottled from too much, we could all use more fluoride. JMHO
