The other day I was carrying bags of groceries in both hands and as I approached the door of my house I thought, it would be nice to have a tail that could reach out and turn that doorknob, the kind of a tail monkeys have. If evolution is true, why did I lose my tail? It doesn't make sense and I feel shortchanged!
Evolutionists, please explain.
Serious answers only please.

Hmmm... So far no satisfactory explanations. Some of you say we don't need tails when we clearly would find them useful. Others are saying since we belong to a family of apes we don't have tails (but we do have tail bones). What's up with that? You're not helping. I asked for serious answers.

Fred I can see you're trying hard. Good, but where is the explanation?

Evolutionists like to use the term "Tailbone" because they think we used to have a tail. lol.
I wonder if they think we really have "drums" in our ears.
If evolution means 'Survival to the fittest" or "Adapt to the enviroment" - Then evolutionists should be able to explain why birds fly south for the winter. That surely doesn't sound like they are adapting to the enviorment.. These birds are escaping death by moving to a warmer climate.
Human evolution - Adapting to the enviroment. -
Why do humans die from coldness and humidity?
You always hear about someone dying from heat stroke.
So much for adapting to the enviroment.

1) If we had tails, pants would be more expensive.
2) Prehensile tails are only found in the New World monkeys. We branched away from the New World monkeys earlier than the Old World monkeys as indicated by the fact that the New World monkeys have two-color vision and that apes and Old World monkeys have three-color vision.

If you would investigate, you would find that evolution has not removed your tail. You still have a tail, like all primates. You can only blame evolution for making it small and fusing it with your sacral bones. When you say that you feel shortchanged, you are making sense, since your tail was just changed to become short, not gone.

There are still a couple of its bones in your spinal chord.
Well, when men began to walk in 2 legs the tail became useless and maybe even got in the way of standing up. Remember back then there were no groceries or doors, only stuff that chased you. So you'd better be standing up to look around for predators, and be very fast while running from them.

You see, as the small apes like monkeys evolved into bigger, more human-like apes (like gorillas) their weight could not be supported by their thin tails and would break off when hanging from a tree. So, over a period of time, like million years or so, the tails stopped growing.
Sounds reasonable? Wow!, I must have added a new theory!

You don't need a tail so it stops developing in the womb. But you can make your own tail if you want. Find something that looks like a tail that would suit you and tie it to your belt. Maybe everyone will think you are cool and get their own tails. Be sure to explain to everyone what it is and why you have it.

After the doorknob was developed, someone came along with their God given insight and developed a latch handle. We can use it with our elbows and not worry about full hands! And we don't need tails either!

there are monkeys and there are apes. monkeys have tails and apes do not. humans belong to the ape family, thus we dont have tails. an ape would use its foot to turn the doorknob. next time, take off your shoe and sock (if applicable) and use it to turn the knob. with practice, it will become easy.

I can not answer your question, however i just wanted to say that i feel the same way! I have often though how cool it would be to have a tail. Certainly we would have used it all the time to balance ourselves and to do things, why did we lose it?

tails were just so darn hard to keep clean! And think of the trouble we would have had with fashion... Jeans would never be the same....
Plus, if we all had tails everyone would know exactly how we felt and we couldn't be as cunning or sly!
