I'm greatful that the one good thing from my son's illness was that he, and his siblings, can attend several weeks of camp each summer. From 8 am to 10 pm it's go, go, go. I bought them a trampoline and hope one day to get a pool in back so at least come summer they are outdoors as I work from home and dont care that they have half the neighbourhood out here. Still playing on the streets is dangerous...real morons and dope heads use side streets as short cuts and speed zones...got t-boned myself last summer...so I can see the problem. We need more social programs like the old days where community centers and parks...too much concrete in this jungle.

And parents all work too...so kids are shoved in day care or schools and we all know they get little or no exercise there really.

wow - thats crazy. What happened to the good ole' days? No, my children arent suffering from that. They love to go outside and play around the neighborhood! Over the summer, they were getting into the habit of playing too many video games, so we just limited their time and now they love it!

I am not surprised the onset of video games and fear among parents, kids cannot go out and just be kids, play, ride their bikes. They prefer to stay in on msn facebook.
