Try connecting to another network. If the network you are on has a proxy, the owner of the network is doing so to control network access (monitor/block). The network is designed so that you can only get out of the intranet to the Internet by using the proxy.

That depends on a few things. If you are on a network and you have a fairly smart network administrator then he would make it to where you cant change the proxy settings in you web browser.

A way to check if you can disable the proxy settings is to open up your web browser (I use Internet Explorer so it may be different for you depending on which web browser you use.

Go to Tools then click on Internet Options. Then click on the Connections tab. Then click on the LAN Settings button. A box will pop up. If the setting under the Proxy Server are greyed out then you cant disable the proxy as long as you are logged onto the network.

If you cant disable the proxy settings then you can try a couple of things.

First if you know the password to the local administrator account on your computer then you can logon to that account and follow the steps above to see if the proxy settings are enabled. To disable the proxy just uncheck the box that says Use a proxy server for your LAN.
If you do logon to the local administrator account it will allow you to disable the proxy settings.

Next thing you can try is using a website that allows you to bypass your proxy and another aynonmous proxy.
A website i use is : http://www.vpntunnel.net
this website will allow you to visit any website like myspace or any other website that you were not allow to visit before.

The last thing you can try is sweet talking or bribing your network administrator. I discourage this very much because it could get you in trouble. But if you are in despreate need of bypassing the proxy server then i would try that as a last resort.

Screw all the complicated hoops with socks proxies, this here is the best proxy for myspace. All the functions work, you can view pictures on more than one page, send and recieve IMs. Login too of course lol. Yeah its also 100% free with no popups and works with other sites too, like youtube.

Hi, there are websites that let u get around a proxy server like:
http://www.hidemyass.com
These websites aren't that fast so I recommend that u download Xerobank Browser for free from:
http://www.xerobank.com
This will bypass ur proxy server and let u surf anonymously. Its easy to use as its built on Mozilla Firefox. If that website above is blocked then u can always search for "xerobank browser download" from yahoo to get to another download link.
Xerobank browser is pretty fast but u will have to set it up ur self or u can contact me for help.
Good Luck and take care!
