I am a dog lover, and at first, like much all dog lovers wanted to lock him up and throw away the key. But then yesterday after seeing him say he was sorry, I kind of changed my mind. I mean he apologized to everyone. Not to mention the fact that he found Jesus. So if Jesus can forgive him, why can't we. I mean throwing him in jail isn't going to unhang or undrown those dogs.

Also, giving the racial persecution that has been inflicted upon him, I only think that it is fair to cut him some slack. There is no way that he would be under this kind of scrutiny if he were white. If he were white, he would have been given a slap on the wrist and maybe would have been suspended for one game. Not to mention, if he were Mexican, he would be a national hero for extending the sport of cockfighting beyond chickens. So I say, the poor guy has been through enough. Let's forgive and forget.

get a life! Has NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE! The idiot was cruel to dogs!!! He should be punished! As far as Jesus.. I can only hope he REALLY did find Jesus... but even then , he still is in the wrong and must deal with the convition of what he did...

Let me guess you think the whole reason he was caught was because he was black?? Well race is not a matter in this issue. This is an issue of right and wrong and what M.Vick did was all wrong. He is a heartless man and deserves to be punished. I truly believe as a white person that if someone that was White, Asian, Mexican or Black they would receive the same punishment! They had too much evidence against him for race to even play a roll.

He believed that he was going to get away with this. Remember in the beginning how he kept telling people I am innocent?? He knew deep down in his heart that he was busted and lied. If he was a good person he would have fessed up to it right then and there. He knew what he did was wrong that is why he did not come out at first and say yeah I did it. He thought just because he was a pro athlete that he was untouchable. Everyone in the history of being busted for something shameful has found Jesus. I never knew Jesus was lost. Humm... Maybe for thugs like Mike Vick its ok to use finding religion is an excuse to be forgiven in the public’s eye. However, seeing him say he was sorry was crap. He is just doing what his PR people want him to do at this time. He is trying to undo the horrible things he has done to his reputation. Yeah so he said he was sorry to everyone. What about the dogs he killed?? Does he feel guilty for that? I think he should have to do some public service at the local animal control office after he's done with his jail sentence. I really hope that the legal system makes an example out of him and gives him the maximum sentence. Money, fame and fortune should not make things of this nature ok with society or our legal system.

So no I don't think we should forgive and forget. It's time to stand and remember. To think you call yourself a dog lover.

No - you know what here's where you thinking is wrong. I would have forgiven him - in a heartbeat IF he would have come forward, admitted his guilt and apologized in the beginning. But he was an indignant Fkr who hid behind his lawyers and maintained his innocence. Remember any of those photo ops?? Standing on the courthouse saying he had nothing to do with this, the TRUTH will come out. He was not involved.

Then, as his counterparts rolled and broke under the pressure and confessed, he was still the LAST one to say, yep I am guilty. It took 3 other people confessing their guilt and all admitting and sharing what Vick did (and you know how they do that don't you - each person is kept separate from the other and each gives a signed sworn statement - and lo and behold, all three people's statements agreed with one another!).

It was ONLY then that Vick decided to plea. With his back up against the wall, with a mountain of evidence, a plea is actually the only way that he can get a shorter "minimum" sentence. And then he has the gall to stand out there and apologize?? HELL NO. Apology not accepted.

I accept apologies from people that are really sorry about what they have done. He's only really sorry that he got caught. This wasn't a one time thing - this dogfighting went on for YEARS.

People like him need more than words - they need to speak their apologies in terms of actions (and thowing a bunch of money towards some rescue organization doesn't count). Until his ACTIONS show that he truly is sorry and feels remorse for what he did, he can rot in jail for all I care.

Here we go again, with the race issue! Race has absolutely nothing to do with this. As far as finding Jesus, if he did that's great, but anyone who goes to prison, claims to have found Jesus. That remains to be seen! As far as the apology, he was coached by his lawyer or someone else, on what to say! I don't believe one word he said! He may be sorry, but the only reason, is because he was caught. As far as cutting him some slack, I don't think so! He didn't cut those poor dogs any slack, when he tortured and murdered them, now did he! He commited a viscious crime and has to pay for it, just like any other animal abuser should. There is no excuse for what he did, and I cannot even think about forgiving him. How can anyone feel sorry for Michael Vick?

You are just here to cause trouble... There is no racial persecution.. Doesn't matter what nationality he is, doesn't matter if he has 2 heads.. He was abusing and neglecting dogs, he was betting on dog fights and he was FIGHTING DOGS...

You are one of those people who gets beat up by a spouse and then forgives them over and over again, thinking when they apologize that they are serious when they say they won't do it again.. IF Vick hadn't been caught, he would still be fighting dogs today.. He deserves much more than what he got.. So what he apologized.. People apologize all the time when it would benefit them to do so, and they don't really mean it...

Dogs died, dogs suffered, he is a public figure and has given people the idea that this sort of thing is fine.. He deserves far more punishment than he'll get.. Never forgive and forget when people abuse, whether it's other people, or animals.. Abusers are repeat offenders!

Paris Hilton found Jesus too.. She was in jail for what, 20 minutes.. People seem to find Jesus when they are afraid for their life.. Doesn't mean they are serious, or it will last, just that they are desperate and they know it makes a difference to people when they apologize.. Let's see him turn his life around and prove that he found Jesus.. Let's see if Jesus forgives him...

Honestly I don't think his apology is sincere. I think it was a well-written speech prepared by someone else who was paid to write something that would make him seem less evil. His body language during his apology screamed embarrassment and humiliation, but not sincerity and certainly not regret for his actions.

As for "the racial persecution that has been inflicted upon him," I'm pretty sure that's a figment of your imagination. If he were white, and not a celebrity, he would be facing the maximum penalty allowable by law with the evidence they have against him. Because he is a celebrity and a famous person he SHOULD get as harsh a punishment as the court can administer. However, BECAUSE he is a famous football player he probably won't even serve half of his sentence, which I assure you will probably be as light as the courts can legally manage. Anyone who seriously believes that Vick will receive harsh punishment for these crimes is only kidding themselves. This isn't just a case of being mean to a few dogs. These are serious criminal charges. Dog fighting is associated with narcotics, gambling, and other illicit activities which are federal crimes in and of themselves. If you seriously believe that the only illegal activity going on on that property was dog fighting, then you are very naive indeed.

I think we should worry a little bit more about the people who kill other people than we do about the people who kill dogs. Not that dog killing is right. It's horrible. But people have been so focused on this. What about the fact that men beat their girlfriends every day? Public school teachers abuse their students at alarming rates? Kids get away with bullying the weaker? Doesn't that deserve a little more attention? Enough is enough with the Vick thing.

And this isn't a racial thing at all. If he were white, blue, purple or green he should have been treated in the same way. But his celebrity has made for a more famous trial much to his downfall.

The man killed and had dogs killed simply because their usefulness to himself had expired. He made no attempt whatsoever to rehabilitate them or find other accommodations for them. He simply murdered them, and not humanely either. His apologies ( if you can call them that ) have not been sincere and were obviously authored in an attempt to save his football career. At no time has Mr. Vick expressed any remorse and has, in fact, suggested that he was unfairly prosecuted because he was a high profile black man. And he has also engaged the services of a very high bucks PR firm to try make him look like the injured party here, and to make his detractors look like the bad people. Sorry; but as long as he maintains his arrogant attitude about this whole affair he will see no forgiveness from this dog owner.

Wow! You must be living in OZ!
No person in their right mind will forgive this person. No one will forget what he did or they manner in which he conducted him self. The shear ruthlessness of his actions speaks volumes as to exactly what kind of person he really is.
Doesn't matter what color he is, strip that away and he is still what he is.
A person driven by greed, a person who has little regard for any kind of life be it animal or human, A person who's only regret is that he got caught, a person who thought he was above the law just because he was famous.
He hasn't found Jesus! Sounds really good at a press conference though. The NFL has suspended him, his public has turned their backs on him, his own father turned him in.
Yet here you are defending him for what he has done and you think we all should all follow your suggestion of forgiveness like little lambs.

Sorry Ace but no can do!
He deserves all that is coming to him, and more. He's ruined himself and his family too.
You really need to get you head out from your butt and look around. No one here will give you what your want to hear and I seriously doubt anyone else will either.
Poor Guy, Give me a break!

First, he only became soprry after he got caught lieing. He lied to everyone and said he had nothing to do with the dog fighting and knew nothing of it. It was ont after his friends and family turned on him to save their own butts that he gave in. How can you cut a guy like that some slack? I guarantee that had his accomplices shut their mouths, he'd still be fighting this case and saying he did nothing and knows nothing. I'd bet you'd be singing a different tune if one of your dogs got electrocuted by Vick and his gang of thugs. He needs to pay the price for what he did...period.

As far as finding Jesus is concerned. We are not God. Let's see what happens when this all plays out. If he never returns to the NFL, watchout folks.

And racial persecution? C'mon dude. Who turned on Vick and his accomplices? It wasn't some white dude at the last dog fight at Vicks house. Go to the link below and see how Vick's own Dad turned him in. This is no race issue. You're simply another brainwashed victim of racial prejududice where none exists. In your world and others like you, the law should excuse some but not others and what's worse, you use skin color as the reason to request we turn a blind eye. Get real man. Look at the big picture for yourself and make a decision for yourself on the merit of the circumsatnces as they are and not for what someone tells you they are or should be.

"The poor guy has been through enough." Huh, are you real?Aftre we wet him down and electrocute him to death then maybe he's been through enough. Or maybe we can slam a professional athletes head into the concrete when they don't perform well enough on the field. Hey, that's what Vick did to defenseless dogs that didn't perform well enough for him. You're both losers.

first off what does color have to do with it? I mean he did a very bad thing. He hung dogs and drawned some he deserves what he gets. Color has nothing to do with it b/c if a white person had done it they would have gotten the same punishment that Vick got. it don't matter what color u are whats wrong is wrong and he did do wrong and needs to be punished for it.

Throwing him in jail would teach him a lesson that its not ok to mistreat animals. b/c if they just gave him a slap on the wrist and then he would have done it again so he needs to spend some time in jail and take up for his actions. he knows he did wrong and just wants the rest of the US to forgive him. But I don't until he does some time. And if u were any animal lover u wouldn't want to forgive him either.
