Anyone tried out the S&W 8 shooter 357mag revolver? i am sure it is well made, just wondering if any one has a opinon?

Yeah S&W makes a 7 shot, but I would prefer the 8 shot.

The extra two rounds will make the gun a bit more effective. I might just stick with my old 6 shooter, I use it at home because of its small size. Cant very well break out the 44 mag with a 10.5 inch barrel very quickly at home.

Guess I will wait until I see one in person, if its too damn big then I will pass it up.

It's a good quality firearm. That extra 2 rounds can come in handy in an emergency too.

These guys are right. Unless you just want a revolver, go with a Glock in .357sig. Much higher capacity, much lighter gun, and same ballistics as a mag.

Another alternative is to go w/a .357 mag 7 shot. The 7 shot models are not nearly as big and bulky as 8 shots.

I'm not sure if S&W makes a 7 shot, but Taurus does. I have a 627 Tracker that holds 7 rounds. I love it!!!!!

I also agree with old fuzz. Unless it's a .44 magnum or higher, I just don't see the point in having a cylinder that large. If you need more than 6 rounds of .357 magnum, then you either need to buy a high capacity semi-auto like a GLOCK or XD, or you need to move to a different neighborhood.

I gotta concur with Ol' Fuzzy. Just a gimmick to get you to part with more money. If you cant get the job done with 5 or 6 rounds from a .357 then make sure to save the last one for yourself.

It is a large weapon, based on the "N" frame. Advances in metallurgy have allowed the big cylinder to accommodate the extra two holes. I'm not sure the extra two rounds justifies buying an expensive, large handgun.

I have a friend who bought one; claims it is great, for building up his arm muscles without going to the gym.
