modern driveline.com has everything you need.I have a 69 mach 1 that was an automatic, now its a 5 speed. You don't have to "cut" the floor pan.You can find a clutch pedal on e- bay. There is a cable conversion kit available so you won't need any linkages.

You have some good info so far, the part about cutting your floor is incorrect.

I have a 65 and but a T5 5 speed behind my 289 based 347 stroker. The parts that you will need have already been listed and bellhousings, clutches, flywheels, and the T5's themselves are all over the place so parts are easy to find and can be picked up for reasonable prices. The one part that will be "specific" to the T5/vintage mustang swap will be the rear tranny mount which you can weld one yourself or find them on ebay pretty cheap.

You can use a cable clutch or hydraulic clutch, if you are running long tube headers then you may want to look into hydraulic for possible clearance issues with long tubes and cable clutches (depending on which header).

If you use a cable clutch you will drill a hole in your firewall and if you use certain shifters (ie:steeda tri-ax), you may have to notch a little bit out of your floor in the shifter opening. Its not much and can be done with a sawzall, cut off wheel etc

Places like Mustang Country will have conversion kits. If you have a power brake booster you might end up losing the power brake system so make sure you have all the vacuum figured out, but a true conversion kit should have everything you need. You shouldn't have to cut a hole in the floor since you should have a floor shift already.

Who cares if it's a classic stang, they are a dime a dozen have fun with it.

you will need, flywheel / clutch / pressure plate / throwout bearing / clutch pedal / linkage / shifter / tranny mount / crossmember, maybe a driveshaft / pilot bearing / Bell housing / and transmission. No engine work required, or you just upgrade to a modern Auto Transmission, maybe less of a headache.

If we're just talking about looks, my vote is on the '65. In terms of practicality, ease of repairs, and ease of finding parts, I'd go with the 07. But since we're just talking about looks, yeah, the 65 looks way sweeter in my opinion.

Where are you going to hang the clutch pedal? Your going to cut the floor on a nice classic car? Your far better off putting in a modern 4 speed automatic. After market companies make kits to by pass all the electronics. You can use shift kits and manual valve bodies to make it shift any way you want, and when you want
