Explain why extremely long curing times are required for rubber mixes containing sulphur only.

How can i describe the way in which cure times can be reduced to within the time scales used for normal production runs.

It is (in this case) the time required for a fluid to become a solid.

Look up vulcanization.

Curing is the time to go from initial state to final state usually liquid to solid eg wet concrete to a solid concrete slab. Liquid latex to solid rubber etc. Curing can be influenced by a number of factors, and can be speeded up accordingly. Add mixtures eg chemicals which help speed up bond and crystal matrix formation, eg quick drying cement, most often curing in industry is speeded up my heating eg, a heating oven tunnel.
