Well a little over a year ago I got this very odd bruise on my leg which to this day is still there, but it also hurts now. Like my calf will get tingly and sometimes its a little hard to walk, or keep my leg in the same position for long periods of time. Ive already been to the doctor because I was afraid it was a blood clot but he said no it wasn't. Does anyone know of what this could be?

An accurate diagnosis would require sight of the problem, but it is almost certain that you have not got any underlying nerve damage. Provided that you have no other bruising or other discoloured spots, it is likely that the discoloration is simply a long-lasting bruise. What has probably happened is that some blood products from red blood cells have leaked out of the capillaries and been broken down in the tissue, giving the brownish discoloration. It is extremely likely that the discoloration will slowly fade and you will have no further problems, although this could take several more months. Should it not get slowly better, or if it itches or the pain is excessive or, indeed, you are just worried about the condition, then by all means go and consult a dermatologist. If it is a simple bruise with resultant discoloration of the skin, the dermatologist would do no more but would reassure you. If there is any other cause, then what he does will of course depend on that cause.
It could however, be a trapped nerve...or something eles, go to the doctor.

I can't be sure what it is unless I see it and examine it carefully.

Given your description, it could be a blood vessel malformation. When blood vessels are malformed they can form braches and spread, giving a bruise-like appearance. Do you see small blood vessels within the "bruise"? The pain could result from an increase in pressure of these vessels due to stressful activities such as prolonged standing, or walking.

You may want to visit your doctor again, or another doctor for that matter. Blood dyscrasias or any problem with regards to your clotting system in the blood could also cause bruises which are persistent. This can be detected through blood exams. These bruises usually occur randomly all over your body but most commonly in areas of common use like your legs. But if you don't have any other bruises in other areas of your body then I don't think you have this.

see a doctor.

Im sure you are not that old, but as you get older your body takes longer to repair. I injured my knee once and it was still hurting a year later. My advice is go back to your doctor and insist on going to hospital to get some therapy on your leg, dont take no for an answer.

I have those too...it's just broken blood vessels (spider veins) but when you walk alot, bump it, have a leg cramp, etc, it will turn darker..it never goes completely away.
