I have a rainbow lorikeet who loves sneaking up behind me and sticking his inch-long tongue down my ear. For the last two days, the insides (deep-down) of my ears have been sore. It fluctuates - sometimes it hurts and sometimes it doesn't. Could this be an ear infection caused by my birdie? If so, will it go away on its own? It would be great if somebody could provide a reference.

Have you ever heard of "parrot fever" you'd better look into it, I don't think you'll want your parrot "licking" your ear anymore.
