Yes.

The irony is that the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent god is powerless to know that people are being blasphemous, powerless to strike them dead, or disable them at worst, or tell them kindly not to blaspheme. If god just said to me right now, you are being a bad human, I would probably stop being bad.

It doesn't matter if YOU think it's harmless or if YOU think it shouldn't bother God, what matters is what GOD thinks of it and according to his prophets he finds it highly disreprespectful.

While God is of course bigger and greater than us in all ways and this is therefore not an exact illustration, but what you you as a parent think if your child said "You shouldn't care if I insult you because you are bigger, smarter and wiser than I, just get over it" ?

Would you let a child who was old enough to know better get away with insulting you and using your good name as a swear word, or would you punish them?

While obviously you are big enough not to be harmed by the insults, you should still take issue with the child because it's actions are demonstrating a very bad attitude problem and no good parent should let something like that slide.

There usually are no victims except the one who utters it. The penalty is the same as any other sin, and all can be forgiven. However, Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit can never be forgiven. (as spoken by Jesut). This is when someone attributes the devil, or evil, to God.

Totally.

And an anachronistic one.

Which is why it is so aweful that it is still on the British Statute books.

An omnipotent (or imaginary, depending on your p.o.v.) God cannot, almost by definition, be a victim.

So the answer is "yes".

Not if the deity you blaspheme is real, it ain't. And I wouldn't wanna invoke the wrath of any deity--the one I believe in can get pretty violent, if history is any indicator.
