The last question i asked was about the Bible's authenticity. Some people who replied to it advocated that it was a historical record from beginning to end...but there is no evidence to back up each of the events except for a few famous ones.

Are people really that lazy or stupid to seek for truth? I think there is a lot more truth in Orthodox Jewish beliefs or psychic realm in a sense that they have not too many discrepancies with history and observed phenomena.

The Torah tells of Gods will for mankind and the Blessings and the cursings involved for not following His commandments It goes on to tell how He will provide a Savior for fallen mankind to become a propitiation for us--- that would allow man to stand before God worthy because of belief in this Savior. Then it gave history of the Jews and Muslims. The New Testament is just that a Testimony the Will of Jesus Christ and the promise we will inherit by receiving Him as our Lord and Savior and Believing in Him, He promises eternal life with the Father God in heaven to all who believe on Him. This Testament records all the prophesies that Jesus Christ fulfilled from the Old Testament (Torah) giving unquestionable proof that indeed Jesus is Lord and all mankind will bow at His feet and every tongue shall proclaim He is Lord on the Lords day of Wrath. The books shall be opened and an accounting will take place, some to eternal life and others to eternal damnation, separation from God. Don't be deceived by man read the Word. God loves you and if you have ears listen!

I think that the bible has to be taken with a pinch of salt....I'm christian and have read the bible.....it has some every strange things in it that couldn't come from God.......it's more or less a guide book...but not the literal word of God. If it was a literal word of God then God Is in need of help!
Any Christians that disagree with me need to read the bible cover to cover!!!

If we believe what Jesus told us in The Apocryphon of John, then the entire o.t. is not credible. Also, every single christian doctrine is false.

With the exception of the first 11 chapters of Genesis, the history in the Bible lines up pretty well with the rest of the recorded history of the world. Only notable exception I can think of is the Exodus; then again, would we expect the Egyptians to document in their own history an event as devastating to them as that was?

In fact, the Bible is ironically the only ancient history that we have that tells of failure after failure of its people; the recurring theme of the whole thing, from Genesis to Esther, is the Israelites constantly defying God. Every other ancient history touts the virtues of the culture, not the shortcomings. This fact alone should give a small amount of credibility to its historical accuracy.

Why is it when you ask questions about religion you already seem to have a "correct" answer in mind that you're fishing for and then get pissed off when people don't give you exactly what you want?

Try asking questions that don't wake passion. Passion obscures objectivity

Sadly they are just equipt with your usual Church fed answers but when it comes to history and reality they are lacking big time. I think if most of them took the time to learn as much as they could about the history and the original translations they would probably not believe anymore...like me.
