As far as my knowledge goes, Sri Chakra (Yantra) Puja can be performed subject to certain fulfillment of certain conditions.
Sri Chakra shall be made on Copper / Silver / Gold.
BijAksharas are depicted on it and after doing japa and the person who is giving it to you shall give away his power of tapsya over to the Sri Chakra.
The person who is doing puja to Sri Chakra has to imagine that Goddess shall be within that house and always you have to be cautious of - talking vulgarly, furious on others and during the period you have to be away from the Puja room and you have to stay in a separate room and you are not suppose to see the Yantra.
During that period any other person who is having those qualities is eligible to do puja. Every day after puja you have to offer Naivedyam - rice, dal, curry and curd/ yogurt.
ONE MORE IMPORTANT CONDITION IS - SEXUALLY ACTIVE MEN OR WOMEN SHOULD NOT TAKE UP THIS PUJA AT ALL..-
The person who is giving you the Sri Yantra shall give you Upadesa of Mantra and how to perform Puja. How many times you have to do japa, conditions, performing puja with Kumkum and other related issues.
There are different versions of Schools regarding the Puja.
While preparing Sree Chakra every precaution to be taken, and to see the dimensions of the same and each and every bijAkshara should be perfect.
If any thing goes wrong, the affect will be fatal and it may affect your total family.
I heard that in markets ready made chakras are available. My sincere advice is not to purchase the same and invite troubles.
Personally contact any good Guru and seek his advice.

Do it when you are ready ...i started first wearing hats all the time....and long sleeves under my scrubs at work...There is always someone who is not going to like what others do..Don't let it bother you sis...just smile and keep going...if you need to express anger and frustration over the way some people treat you......then work it out on the treadmill or swimming or something physical that will help relieve the anger from others..I have learned that it does no good to get mad and say anything to these kind of people...I will try to be the better person than them...Once you start wearing hijab you don't ever stop....i can never imagine being without hijab now....my co-workers had no problem with my wearing hijab....

Go to Guru. Not to Web. You will have adverse affects if the Yantra properly not maintained. Be careful. Don't try to learn this thing through Internet. After all it is based on belief. If you really wants the answer better approach a Guru.

the puja, & tell you how to wear it.
