No, not at all. On the contrary, you should remain humble when you go to church services and dress appropriately. God doesn't really care what you wear whenever or wherever you worship Him, as long as you do it religiously every Sabbath.
But such is not the case. Let's be honest about it, people who frequent going to church have gotten into the habit of "wearing their Sunday best" clothes, their new shoes, flashy jewelry and accoutrements... and some even drive in their new cars, if only to show off to others in their congregation.
Church services have evolved into becoming too much of a "fellowship" gathering and is treated more like a social function rather than being a spiritual experience by the churchgoers. It all really boils down to vanity and hypocrisy for most people.
Peace be with you.

God loves me as I am.
I am a pajama girl. So I wear decent casual clothes to church and occasionally dress up. My church is laid back and the people are not too judgemental about how you dress in church. It is about worshipping God and focusing on him, not seeing if people are wearing their best or the latest trends.
Although, the biggest thing is not dressing unmodestly in church, you don't need to distract others from the reason they are there. Especially if they have young young teenage boys!

God deserves at least as good as I would wear on a first date, don't you think?
Most of the regulations in the Bible about dress are directed toward women, but the principles can be applied to men too. The idea was to not make our physical appearance the focus of worship, but rather God. We should not concern ourselves to the point that what we wear is more important than why we're there.
Personally, I wear a tie every week. In a church of about 700, I am one of about 10 who wears a tie every week (even the pastor doesn't). I am the only one under age 45 who wears a tie every week.

Dear apple,
It's a nice way to honor the Lord.
But i think what's on the inside (your heart) is a lot more important than what's on the outside.
You shouldn't dress your best- because people tell you- but you want to honor God and i know that God appreciates that.
i typically set my clothes out for Sunday on Saturday evening.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

I think God loves you as you are. Too many churches have become social clubs. Don't get me wrong, I go and believe we should go, but, let's see what Gods Word says about the way we should dress.
This is really the only opinion that truly matters isn't it?

I went to Church on Sunday wearing jeans and a tank top, and I raised my hands up to God, and I sang, and I prayed, and I yelled "Hallelujah!" and I expressed my love for Him through emotion, not through appearance. In my opinion, He loves us no matter what we wear. Though it is "respectful" to dress well for Church, I am not wearing a ratty t-shirt with an upside-down cross. I'm singing, dancing, and praising Him. In my opinion, it's the spirit that counts and that proves everything. You could be dressed to the T and still not be spiritual and still not love God. But I dress tastefully, though not flashy and fancy, and I praise Him with all my heart.

No and I would encourage you to RUN AWAY from a church that promotes that idea. It's 100% man-made and is all about LOOKING spiritual in the eyes of other people. It doesn't have anything to do with real Christianity.

You dress in a way that shows respect and reverence. That's all. For me, it means I wear slacks and a tie and a jacket. I don't feel I need to go buy a fancy suit.

I personally don't believe you should dress "skany" as far as skimpy cloths. as long as your body is covered from your shoulders to your waist and your waist to your knees i feel its fine. God is a spirit. he doesn't care what we look like physically. I personally usually wear a shirt and jeans to my church and its accepted. I don't think its necessary by any means to wear shirt and tie but I'm not against it. in my opinion its whatever your comfy in.

Funny I dont recall Jesus ever mentioning a dress code.
It is the condition of your heart that counts
not the clothes on your body.
