Only if:

1. You plan to use it often
2. You know how to use it
3. If you continue to learn how to use it (there is so much on it)

I have it, I love it, but it its not for everybody. Only if you want to do advanced graphics, etc, otherwise stick to something more basic like GIMP

Well if you want to make a web design Photoshop if for you, it goes well also for making images and other designs and you can start your own business with it. If you are not that sure try also Adobe Fireworks its almost the same with Photoshop but it does vector pretty good and supports the CMYK color.

Try having comparison with these two.. here are some links you could check out before you decide on any of these two.

I've used several other digital image editing programs, and have NEVER been satisfied as I am with Photoshop! I still use Photoshop 7, I tried CS,(PS8),CS2,(PS9), but not CS3. I'm still satisfied with the program I have! GIMP's alright, but support just s*cked! Granted it took a while to get the basic's down for PS, but after reviewing numerous free tutorials on the net, and experimentation, I'm ecstatic! Plus if you go on professional photographer forums,(Photocamel.com, Canon Workgroups, etc), the top pro's use it. I really don't care about that, but why don't they use something else, if it's better? They CAN afford whatever! I would check out eBay, and look for a 7, or CS version, New In Box, SEALED, OEM for a LOT cheaper than the new one's price of $599.00. You can always upgrade if you have one of these versions. You can download CS2 for a free one month trial, if I'm not mistaken. They used to, I haven't been to their website in some time. Just my 2cents!

That depends on how much graphical power you really need. Gimp is similar and free. Corel Paint Shop Pro also has many of the same options and cheaper than PhotoShop.

Yes it is worth it.

CS3 is great and a much improved product.

It includes so much more than just PhotoShop.

Camera RAW converter, ImageReady, Adobe Bridge.
