The Abu Sayyaf is a terrorist group, it spreads terror for the mere purpose of extorting money. It is just and proper to destroy them, if we don't do it now then they'll just pop up again and again. They are weaker than they were in the early 2000's when they had the nerve to try to capture whole towns, now they resort to making shady alliances to rouge elements of the MILF and MNLF to keep them strong.

In the matter of the MILF however, I hope that all peaceful means to end the conflict is exhausted. Unlike the ASG (Abu Sayyaf group) they are not terrorists, they have a genuine objective: Peace in Mindanao. We must yield the ARMM to the MILF for their own governance, since they do have the right to ancestral claims and maybe after twenty years they may have a referendum on whether or not they want to be independent.

Then we must require the MILF to help destroy the Abu Sayyaf as a condition for autonomy.

Destroy the Abu Sayyaf for peace in Mindanao!

Abu Sayyaf is attacked because they control a lot Mindinao which is mineral rich so the Philipine is fighting for the control of the wealth.

why not thats an al quadia linked group that also kidnaps for ransom so a legtimate target as in other operation rules of engagement and geneva convention should be followed. I would not say its right to level villages attack civilians etc.
