Wow, I think I would need to know exactly what he said and exactly what was asked. The way you write the question it looks like he's nuts and doesn't care much about a relationship.
But did you tell him that you wanted a relationship with him? If not, maybe he thought you might not, so he kept his answer guarded.
If I said that to a girl it would probably mean I think maybe she doesn't want a relationship with me. It might also mean I think someone told her something like "Yeah, right, he doesn't care about you as a friend, he just wants to date you. Ask him if he wants a relationship. You'll see!"
Then I wouldn't want her to think the person who said that was right!

Why does the girl feel the need to ask this question?
What happened to just allowing a friendship to take fire, or maybe not...
but being ok with that, too?
But answering that question with "ok" and "it's acceptable" means he feels lukewarm about the whole thing.

it could just be a misunderstanding, be it the question, the answer or perhaps the way the question was asked and who was asking it, a guy's not likely to tell his guy friend that he's in love, or he's really happy about going out with this girl, but if it's the girl asking the question than i think he may not really be that interested.

im a guy, and i know that it depends on the person who is wanting the relationship. if he is interested in you and he says ok, maybe he is just trying to play it cool. try it out, but dont get your hopes up. after all if he says a simple ok, he may want to see what its like to have a relationship, and he may decide he doesnt want one quite yet. So dont be surprised if he says he doesnt want one, this happened to a friend of mine a couple weeks ago. she was heartbroken, and i felt bad that she went through this so just dont get all your hopes up, although if he has said ok to it, then he is interested and try and make it worth it.

because of the fact which you're the two putting out with idiots or humorous men who're in basic terms being sexist paradoxically. EDIT: Wait, "a powerful stiff one" could be a lager. according to hazard they're merely asserting that everybody is centred and disciplined till they get a touch devil water in 'em.
