Its kinda bothering me that because im being acused of showing pride. Is it wrong to give thanks to God for using you? Without God i can't do anything except through him, i can't do anything of myself but i can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. What did Paul say "I thank God that i speak in tongues more than you all" (1 Cor 14: 18). Was he boasting or was he giving thanks to God? Sounds like he was giving thanks so if im in the wrong for thanking God that others see my light shine, then paul is wrong as well but we all know that he isn't. People have told me that my light shines and it made me happy that God is using me to bless others in that manner.

The thing is, i wasn't tell people what i have done for others but i was saying that just by me living the way i lived, it blessed others without me knowing it until they told me, I was trying to encourage that if we walk in the ways of God then others might see and be blessed by your walk, when people tell me that they can see my light by my walk, that blesses me because i didn't know that i was being a blessing to that person. This is what im trying to say. I agree with you though

I would say first its important to make sure you are referencing God for your situations. Second, socially, its important to pick the right time and place. If you are going on and on about situations this might tire people and lead them to think you might be boasting or prideful. I wish you would give a couple examples so I could give you a better answer, but this is my .02.
EDIT: for all its worth, Toast you were speaking about something that is beautiful, and i dont believe you were unduly giving yourself too much credit. Esther perhaps was feeling convicted? For she was the only one who was bothered by this.

I think what Paul meant was like if you fed some one that living on the streets and ask you to buy them something to eat and you did and you tell every one in church about it that is boasting some times when you help a stranger it can actually be an angel sent from GOD but not every stranger is an angel sent from GOD read Hebrews 13:1 I also think if you read in the book of Matthew it will tell you about boasting and your reward

As long as it is only between you and God there is nothing wrong with being thankful you are a vessel unto honor.
But if you make mention of it in public, it is the same thing the Pharisees and Saducees did. And you have your own reward.

It is if you tell it in a boasting manner so that people will think more of you than of God. I can tell when someone testifies about something God has done for them whether they are sincerely being thankful or are just bragging on themselves so people will think grand of them.

I would refer you to Matthew 6.
Do what you can for God, as His Spirit directs you. But tell no one about it. Not anyone. Don't even allow your thoughts to rest on it. Keep looking forward.
If you have been telling people about what you've done for others, then you have been boasting.

If you are thanking god in a public way, rather than between you and your god, then it does seem a bit boastful.
