I checked on Amazon.com and they have breadmakers ranging from around $42 to $200. Kitchen stores, department stores and even Walmart carry them. I have an older Oster breadmaker that still works well. The instructions may vary depending on the brand you buy, but usually they have a certain order in which the ingredients must be put into the machine. Here's how mine works - you determine which type of bread you want to make, then you determine the size you want (i.e., a 1- or 1-1/2- or 2-lb loaf), then you add the ingredients into a removable pan in the precise order, put the pan in the machine and choose the appropriate setting (like white bread, french bread etc.) and start the machine. The machine does the rest and beeps when the bread is done. You can also make dough in the machine and remove it after it's risen once and bake it yourself or shape it into rolls and bake it. The breadmaker regulates the temperature so that it keeps the inside at the perfect temperature for rising and then the perfect baking temperature, too. Usually you can make jams in a breadmaker, too. You can make the dough for bagels, doughnuts, pizza, cinnamon rolls and quick breads as well. Does the bread turn out as well as bakery bread? No, but it does give you a decent tasting bread (not perhaps as good as all homemade...if you really know how to make bread), and it certainly simplifies things if you love fresh bread but don't have the expertise or loads of time to make from-scratch breads.

The person who brings in the money is usually called the bread winner, whereas the person who puts that money to good use in a household is the bread maker. For example: You(the bread winner) earns the cash. That cash is then spent on a variety of food ingredients. Your S.O. uses these ingredients to make the food.(the bread maker) that's a pretty broad description as the bread winner can also be the bread maker and it doesn't really work in today's society where many households have two sources of income

They sell them in most dept. store including Walmart and Kmart, but I have used three different ones and the best I ever found is Dak. They have a web site: dak.com I just got one off of ebay last month. A friend dropped my last one and broke it. They are various prices from $30 to over $100. Remember, you get what you pay for. The Dak is over $100, but well worth it.

It cost's me more to purchase the package of bread mix than it does to buy a loaf of bread. But it tastes better because I made it and it's fresh and hot.
