ok so there is this girl named monica who has me and my friend megan's lunch, and a few weeks ago monica called both of us "gothic freaks" we really didn't care and then laughed it off but the next day her and her little friends we're looking at megan and making fat jokes about her, i told her to stop and she said no. and then she did afterall stop; then all of the sudden i here being shouted "megan is a c***" so i turned around and pulled her off the table and clocked her in the mouth and the eye, i broke her nose, and i am currently suspended, as is she, did i do the right thing sticking up for my friend like that???

and i'm not going to apologize for what i did because in my view and pretty much every one at the school besides her friends she got what she deserved

First thing first. Hello. x)

Mmm...the reason people bully others is that they probably have been bullied the same way or the other. Being Goth, we should more or less still know the fear that thrives in the unknown, even though we're more calm at handling it.

Overall, she's probably afraid and to handle things that people are afraid, they squish them.

I know that you won't feel any guilt in this because it's for your friend, but sometimes we just need to sit down, talk with your friend and think of something that is not very rash.

It's rather obvious that that little hussy is broken at the nose and a good revenge.

BUT

Have you realise how much vengence you have planted in her in the process. I'll expect that she'll try her best to plot against you and your friends.

Though, things aren't too late. No guilt, no remorse. Plain simple reflecting on what you can do to such lowlives in future. Either ignore them or say "Really? Wow, I didn't know it either." or "Look where you're pointing. One finger at me and three more right back at you. Ain't you the obvious culprit to whatshitshesaid?"

:) Don't be rash. Good luck~!

You are always right to defend your friend, and good on you for wanting to do so!

However, violence is never OK, and that's not just because this other girl got some nasty injuries. After all, she's not the one who is sitting at home suspended, is she? You've got in trouble because she was horrible. It's not that sensible is it?

And think of it this way ~ now that you are suspended, who is defending your friend? The girls who were being mean to her know you won't be around for a while to protect her, so even if they are scared of you there is plenty they can do to harm her until you get back.

Add to that, you could face criminal charges and even go to prison for violent behaviour. What happens to your mate then? The wolves will be on her in a minute.

And while 'everyone else' says good on you, they are not sitting at home suspended and I bet they are not defending your friend, either. They are just loving the drama, and don't mind seeing you get punished for what they all want to do!

Use this time while you are suspended to think about other ways you could have handled this. Like maybe outwitting them. If you are brave enough to fight them, you are way brave enough to confront them.

Bullies are usually pretty dumb (well, they think being 'tough' makes people respect them when all it does it make people loathe them), and you can really tie them up with a few well chosen words.

Or you could disrespect them, ignore their taunts and tell others not to fear them ~ bullies hate it when people take their power away.

I'm sure there are lots of other ideas you could have to fight against these girls ~ they sound pretty ordinary whereas you and your friend sound a bit special and unusual.

Come up with something and you won't need to use your fists to defend yourself, and once you decide they are not worth getting into trouble over, their stupid comments will not matter any more and their power over you will be gone.

To bad your being punished with a suspension for defending a friend. Monica should have been suspended as well. Hopefully with the broken nose she'll know not to mess with you anymore. I sure hope so. Good Luck.

You are required to give your peace of mind when someone pushes you to the edge. But the question is about your act to reassure it was made for the justice. Please go through your past relations with her and check whether something else would have been taken into consideration. Reassess whether she was habituated and required to be in her limits or assess whether it was a impulsive act of her jealousy or fantasy or taking revenge on your friend . You have to think in private and come to the conclusion . If she was very good then you could have ignored her and if she was repeatedly doing it and inflicting the pain before then she deserved what you have done.

You were right to stick up for your friend, but sad to say, this behavior is not acceptable in our society. I'm not saying that you were wrong, but that if you wish to avoid a lot of trouble much more unpleasant than suspension from school, in the future you will need to figure out some other ways to show support for your friends. Jail is an unpleasant place.

I have worked in security for 6 years on and off. I know the penal code of Ca. forward and backward. I have dealt with sensitive issues many times and survived the riots in LA.
When I was taking Kar Do Jitsu Ryu, My teacher was a mounted officer. You may have broken her nose and even a law or two, but your spirit in loyalty and love of your friend and willingness to jump on the issue when it is happening is impressive and I am glad you did it. what you did, was for honor, love and loyalty. Ethically you were right.

I think I would have tried to talk to this person first.. tell her how it made you felt having your friend humiliated that way.. (then again she might have not wanted to talk or care)
Sometimes our anger takes over and we lash out..
If you feel you did the right thing .. then so be it..
You have been punished by the school and that should be sufficient....
To tell ya the truth I probably would have done the same thing... years ago.. a friend is a friend and yeah its great that we defend them..

You're a punk. You can't solve your problems without punching someone. You're going to end up in prison, or dead.
Don't apologize.. PROVE that you are as big a worthless dirtbag as the girl you hit.

Yeah, I'd have to agree it was the right thing. I'm sure someone will have some lame comment about needing to be more Christian or something though!
