I recommend you try Domestications. It's a catalog company that is a spin-off from Spiegel. They usually have all the latest fashion trends at truly affordable prices. It's been awhile since I've seen their catalog... hmmmm maybe time to redecorate! Haha. Best of luck. Be sure to choose something that is truly you as you'll be seeing it in a small space everyday! You could also make your own you know? Pick out fabric you love & make it dual sided so it's reversible. Easy way to do so is pick up two great printed sheets. Think of it as sewing a huge rectangle if you've never sewn. Not difficult at all, just basically 4 sides. You could borrow a machine or have it stitched up for little to nothing at a local sewing center. Hey go in to 'demo' some of their machines & make it while you're there, heehee! JK I could do it for you if you find the sheets or material that screams your personality. Just let me know. hotmom123@msn.com Another idea is to search thrift shops for vintage fabrics to turn into your own unique look. Or take old tees you have & make a quilt from them. The ideas are endless just put on your creativity cap! Lace doilies, placemats, etc. etc. no limit the possibilities! If you make it yourself you can do curtains to match, table & desk runners too. Or buy a bed in a bag kit & you're all set. Ross has them sometimes also.

The thing to do is get a dirt-cheap comforter, even if it's ugly. Then cover it with a pretty duvet cover. That way you get the look you want, plus you can remove the cover to wash it. You can even buy two pretty flat sheets and sew them together to make a cover.

Ikea has super cute comforters and a lot more for dorm rooms. Everything they have is so inexpensive. If you don't have one nearby, check out their site.

eBay usually has high quality products at warehouse prices.
Also, Target often has Clearance on comforters, and they carry very sturdy and soft materials.
I got mine on sale for $20 about 7 years ago and it's holding up very fine and I'm addicted to it, it is the best one I've ever had and I would never dream of getting rid of it.

IKEA is the ideal place for college students needs. Plates, cups, lights, comforters etc... They are fairly cheap and make a decent product.

Try bed, bath and beyond...the comforters are a bit pricey, but will not have to be replaced until long after you finish college! If you dont have one in your area try online.

Go to your local mall or furniture distribution center! However, you should to these following places as soon as possible because the best would not be save for last.
