Lots of time and money, however, this is a lucrative field and a relatively new career. Rhonda Britten (therapist and co-creator of "Starting Over" TV show that ran for 3 seasons) has a consulting business teaching people to become life coaches. Just google "Rhonda Britten" or "Fearless Living" and follow the links. There are three levels that she offers.

Best wishes.

That's one where you write your own ticket. Salesmanship is key. You take your education and experience and convince people it's the right combination for you to be able to guide them. You can put together some combination of college degrees, life coach training seminars or programs, and life experience.

Look at Rhonda Britten. She is a successful life coach despite having never had a positive personal relationship in her entire life, and her only jobs were in sales.
