Sometimes when I speak or have long conversations with someone. I tend to repeat my words. Is this normal? I do not stutter. I simply speak in sentences, then the word repeats without any sound coming out.
It's hard to explain. But it goes like this.
"where did you get that watermelon?"- then i would mouth the word watermelon.
I feel as if the words are coming out faster than my mouth can move. But at times I wouldn't even be excited, I would just be speaking.
Please help me find the name of this disorder if it exists and give me a link or a reference to look up myself.
thanks.

think i can understand where ya coming from there. i often find myself repeating words when i talk.. and things not coming out the way they should... and i hate it!
i think for me... its more an issue of social phobia and anxiety.
i personally dont know if there is a condition for this.... excpet for social phobia.

perhaps you should go talk to someone.. a doctor. explain what you experience, maybe they can give ya some clues.

Contact ASHA www.asha.org or The Stuttering Foundation of America www.stutteringhelp.org. There are several different kinds of speech disfluency and either group should be able to point you in the right direction.

That resembles Obcessive Compulsice Disorder. But ask a doctor. Don't be ashamed.
