It is some variation of the Mossberg 472, or M-479. With a pistol-grip stock and no saddle ring, it is a 472-C, with the saddle-ring, it is a 472-P. Depending on condition, I'd say they would be worth anywhere from $250.00 - 350.00
If it has a brass buttplate, and the etched receiver, it is a M-472 "1 of 5,000" made in 1974, and value could be up to double that of a regular M-472, depending on condition.
The M-479 PCA was very similar to the M-472 and introduced in 1983. It's value is very similar to the M-472. A M-479 RR has a gold triger and barrel-band, with Roy Rogers signature engraved. There were 5,000 made in 1983. Value would be $300.00-400.00, but only if in near perfect condition.
I've seen a few of these Mossberg lever guns, and in my opinion their quality is on a par with the lower grade Marlins, such as the Marlin M-30. They were good workman-like guns and a good value for the price.
From your description, I'd guess that your rifle might be a M-472 "1 of 5,000" model. These rifle really don't have collector value unless they are very nearly New In Box condition. If it has seen lots of use, it probably wouldn't bring much, if any more than a standard M-472.

I had a Mossberg 479 sca, when I asked about trading it in the dealer didn't even want it,AT ALL!,and I can see why,it was the biggest POS rifle I have ever owned, wouldn't ever shoot straight,ALWAYS ! jamming, and freakin rattly from hell,I hated that rifle and I traded for a Mosin Nagant M38,best trade I ever made!even my Marlin is a far better rifle than that, and that rifle isn't even close to may fav either.
